I am a F1-OPT Student came to US in Jan 2016 who has got her Ex-husband on F2 last year Feb 2016. We got separated in August 2016. Now, Re-married to another guy a month ago and wanted to call him to US as I am all alone in the states. Getting confused related to what should be applied for him, either F2 or B2? As most of the people are saying that chances of getting  F2 visas for OPT holders are very slim and I dont think that they are giving more visas on visit too. I dont want him to get rejected for the first time as first rejection will be continuing for other times too. Please suggest. Any kind of advice or information will be valuable.

You said you got separated in August 2016. Are you divorced now?

A B2 is a visitor visa. If you want your husband to come and visit you and then go back home, you can apply for the B2 visitor. If you want him to stay with you through the duration of your F1 visa, then you would need to apply for the F2, not the B2. If your chances are slim or he gets rejected, you are free to go back to your country to be with him. I'm sure you knew that in marrying someone from another country, there was a risk that he would not be allowed to be here with you and I'm sure you both had a discussion at some point about the possibility that he may not be allowed here.

So it depends on your intention, and how long he will stay with you here on whether you need the B2 or the F2
