Hello,

Now that filled the DS-160 and have the receipt. Can I send the packet-3 email now or do I absolutely have to wait for the letter to come in?

Thoughts?!? Thank you!

Once your status says ready send it in. :) USually you then get packet 4 back the next day and can schedule your interview and then medical. :)

I sent it before getting the packet-3 letter... got an email stating "DO NOT SEND PACKET 3" and "DO NOT BOOK INTERVIEW"  (that I knew) wait for letter from embassy... wait and wait :( - just hope this will not have a negative impact on our file...

That's weird did your case not say Ready on the ceac site? Cause mine said ready and I sent in packet 3 and got packet 4 the next day. Seems strange but I have seen others who got this too.

I had to send packet 3 five times before I actually got packet 4.  The tracker first said ready for me at the end of June (and I sent packet 3 with no response at that time) and I only received packet 4 on July 18 or 19 I think it was, after sending packet 3 the previous day.  I just kept checking the tracker and re-sent packet 3 every time I noticed that the date updated!! Hopefully yours won't take as long... I think I got unlucky with the summer holidays and vacations 😑

Checklist page and ds-160 confirmation page.  Nothing else.  You are confirming you are bringing those items to interview.

Thank you! I did find another discussion who had that answer right after I asked it. LOL. I appreciate you taking the time to answer. I received my packet 3 this morning, but I already sent my packet 3 last night. An hour later of receiving packet 3 email, I also received packet 4. I was able to schedule my interview today. That blew me away on how quick the process went. I guess they're not busy in Montreal at this time of year.

They are but when you wait for the P3, it tends to go faster.

Is it still ok to send in packet 3 before you receive it as long as your case status is "ready" ?

You can. Doesnt mean they will accept it.
