Hey Guys,

I have been engaged to my fiancé for 1.5 years now. I am currently scheduling an appt to apply for my affidavit to get married to him in Egypt in early December. I know I need to schedule his appt as well, but he does not have a passport. Does he actually need a passport for me to schedule the appt or can he use his ID? PLEASE HELP!! Dates are filling up fast. I'm very new to this process. Thank you for any advice in advance! :)

I am the USC. He was trying to get in touch with his best friend and wife who had been through the process and are already here, but he had no luck. We will keep trying, though!

Yes he needs passport to.marry a foreigner . The marriage will be in the dep. Of justice 'wezaret ElAdl' .

Before his marriage he will have to get a marriage permit from the US embassy. So yes he has to have a passport and it's pretty easy . The passport is usually issued in Egypt within 4 days . But he needs to go to the passport issuing office in the police station from where he got his ID issued in the first place .

Good luck
