quick question for those who have completed a fiancee visa interview.   Did you need your old passport, and how long after did it take to get approved and get your passport back?   My fiancee will go the 3rd of Nov. And they asked in the letter to bring his old passport showing he's visited in the USA.  However, when he renewed to get a new passport, he clicked the box to have the old one shed.   This was way before he knew that he would need it, before we even began this process.

I brought my old passports but they never looked at them. Again, I'm sure everyone's experience is different. Since his old one was shredded, he should just be honest with the embassy if they do ask for it. I doubt it would have a huge impact on his visa application :)

Got my passport back with the spanking new visa in 4 working days, 6 days because it went over the weekend.

Thanks.   Did they let you know there if you were approved?  Or did you have to wait until it arrived to find out?

“Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)”

i would say yes, get a police certificate from Qatar.

My consular officer didn't say "You're approved" like everyone else's. However, he said this instead, "Everything looks good. You should get your passport back in a few days with the visa in it."

Fyi, a consular officer can only recommend a visa approval. To find out if the visa is truly approved, when the NVC CEAC tracker says Issued, that means your visa is really approved AND issued :)

they will request it anyway and will send your case to the administrative checking. So better get the Qatar certificate now then being put on hold by the embassy.
