Hi there. Working to send off the 1-130 to Montreal via Chicago Lockbox.

How important is it to have plane tickets/boarding passes specifically? I know many people use this, but we don't have any of them anymore. We do have tons of other evidence (joint finances, joint lease, social media, whatsapp records, etc etc including two years of pics clearly showing us in each other's countries). I'm assuming it's a general summation of evidence, but are boarding passes something they really look for? Would print offs of plane tickets purchased at least be a close 2nd?

Also, what about the letters from friends/family? I kind of assumed that was more for if you didn't have lots of other photo/social evidence,  but is it a definite should have?

If so, did you have all your letters notarized? In the US that's not a big deal (just a couple bucks and some time) but in Calgary it costs $40-50 for one letter! That's the biggest reason I was skipping it...

If you don't have boarding passes, then you don't.  Purchase receipts of old tickets are not actual evidence of travel and henceforth would not be "a close 2nd."  The case in it's totality is what is considered and boarding passes alone do not make or break it.  From what you have written, you have plenty of other evidence of time spent together in person plus you were able to acquire joint finances which most couples would not have at this juncture.  IMO, I would not stress about not having boarding passes.

Don't bother with the letters, they carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file.  If you were to include them, notarization is not required.
