Hi all!

I received an RFE about two weeks ago and have resent in more information which included passport documentation, more statements from the both of us and engagement documentation as well as proof to wed in the U.S. My fiance is coming from India, after the RFE is processed does anyone have a guess as to how long it takes to get an interview and when he may be here?

I guess you applied for I-129F and got the RFE for the same. The total time for I-129F approval can be anywhere between 3-5 months. Mine was approved in 82 days and even had received a RFE too. After you receive a approval the NVC sends package 3 to the US consulate (New Delhi or Mumbai) and that will take about 2 weeks and after that your fiancee will receive packet 4 within a week or 10 days and from then you guys should work fast on medicals, police certificates, visa fees and scheduling visa appointment. Make sure your fiancee has all documents with them when they go for the interview or else they will keep the case on Administrative Processing until you submit a document. My case was put on hold for a month until I sent back the document they required and then it got approved. I'd say from the time you get a I-129F approval to interview will be just 2-3 months. I-129F is valid for only 4 months and interview should be scheduled within those 4 months.

Avinash,

Thank you  so much! Yes, we've applied for both and just sent in the RFE for the fiance visa! I'm hoping he can be here by Christmas but if not I'm planning to go there!
