How does the NVC/US Embassy contact you for the fiance visa

Hi, my case was approved by USCIS and sent to the NVC. it said it would take 2-4 weeks so about week 3 I contacted the NVC via their online portal and they replied - gave me a case number and said it was sent to the US Embassy for expeditious processing. How and who contacts you - does the NVC send you mail or does the US Embassy send you mail or maybe both? I'm kind of lost now on what happens next and when. I only know my case number and that it left the NVC from contacting the NVC - we are in week 4 now and haven't officially received a document or email otherwise stating instructions or dates on when things are happening? Can someone provide some clarity as to what happens and how (mail/email) and what I can do now?

Once we had the new case number my husband (then fiancé) used it to schedule his appointment.  Please visit the CEAC to schedule your visa interview appointment.

Also, check the required docs on your local embassy’s website, the rules vary from country to country.

What Embassy will the beneficiary interview at? Most embassies contact the beneficiary by email with the next steps and what they must do. Some provide the interview date without the beneficiary going to the CEAC page to schedule it.

We need more information to guide you in the right direction.

Scheduling also changes from embassy to embassy. They may not need to go to the CEAC page

I attached the pdf with what they said but it’s at the Bahamas Embassy. Also I looked up online for visa scheduling and fees and it asks for case number which we got but it also asks for an invoice ID which we haven’t received from NVC. Do we just contact the embassy directly for scheduling or it’s best to wait on email?

Sorry about that. Opening other people's files is a risk I don't normally take. That's why we have all kinds of tools in VJ to provide that information in your profile and timeline. Now that I know it's Bahamas, I moved your post to the Caribbean forum so that you can get embassy specific information but, in the meantime, here's the link to the US Embassy in Bahamas where it provides information on the next steps https://bs.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

**Post moved from K1 to Caribbean for embassy specific information.
