1 Person of my team resigned (thank you for saving me the trouble)

AWOL dude got suspended until after Thanksgiving.

Had a long work day, but it was good overall. 

I'm eating healthier, exercising and feeling way better, already seeing the results

Started with a cup of greek yogurt with granola, goji berry, hemp and banana for breakfast,

Two small slices of tapioca/potato flour bread with hummus, zucchini, spinach and goat cheese for lunch,

and a cup of oatmeal with apples and cranberries with coconut-almond milk for dinner. 

Trying to see food as nourishment and not as an emotional crutch, which is tempting right now!

Mild rant, see man:

 

Our nap was so luscious (this is not the rant part, no man) that we overslept it by an hour, over-zzz we man.

This is normally not rantworthy, no man.

However, Wednesday nights = make our remaining lunches for week, plus dish the warsher, Jobs of Husband because The Maid Has Left man.

 

We made our lunches, Job of Husband because The Maid Has Left man.

We noted that, against instructions, Mrs. T-B. had warshed everything except the silverware, rather wasted load man.

Upon opening the dishwarsher, we found the usual agglomeration of clean/dirty items, jumbled mess man.

However, Mrs. T-B. was upstairs and unavailable for Great Bodily Strangulation, geographically undesirable she man.

The warsher might be de-dishable about now or shortly, wait up we man.

And we will be just as tired tomorrow as we were today, need zzz man, thus making us re-tired, ha ha man.

When Mrs. T-B. was still in Ecu and told her (now-late) old-style grandmother about us, her grandmother exclaimed, "Serve him!  Serve him well!", utterly sensible senior she man.

 

Probably right about the time Mrs. T-B. got her first green card, we would ask her to do or get something, and she would say, "Do/get it yourself -- the maid has left," Americana siempre she man.

Rant of curiosity, see man:

 

Why do old people with no financial worries (cf. Mama T-B.) keep their thermostat set one degree lower than the outdoor temperature, huh man?

 

This morn, during our semi-urgent requested visit (duded up in our professional POTS shirt & tie), it was Many (2x2x2x2x2x2+[2x2x2x2]) degrees F. outside, and Mama T-B.'s air conditioning was set at Many (2x2x2x2x2x2+[2x2x2x2]-1) degrees F, good grief man.

 

Every time we query Mama T-B. about this, she replies, "But electricity is expensive, si man!"

And she's paying probably Many (2x2x2) cents (if even that) per kilowatt-hour, good grief and man.

it sounds so formal though?

every time I say ''leche descremada'' people stare at me funny.

I mean skim or light milk, but here it is branded as ''light'' (everything fat free usually) 

but the correct term would be descremada or semi descremada por 2%.

Maybe it sounds weird and formal because it is?  The term playdate is kind of symptom of a modern era in which parents have to pencil in and schedule times for children to play with other children, rather than just finding some neighborhood kids and playing with sticks in the mud.

My husband called to check on our case (281 days and counting)

and being the most patient man I know he still hung up on USCIS this time 

We can't file an inquiry until they update the website which currently says ''Jan 14''

 

On better news, I'm looking forward to going toy-shopping for the kids in the poorer areas in the  state (Yucatán) 

It is so much fun getting the list with kids names and then surprising them. It really is an amazing experience. 

My husband will join us this time, although he is certainly too skinny to play Santa. Maybe with tons of padding?

Looking at Santa suits on Amazon.

We decided not to give each other presents this year, but instead donate/volunteer together.
