one of my best friends is coming to town and I see my other best friend on Friday.

We are probably having brunch because, who doesn't love brunch!

Neither is particularly concise, sigh man, nor does either have a prayer of fitting into a haiku, sigh man.

The problem is that a literal translation does not apply to that phrase. In Spanish, anything that was previously owned by someone is referred to as "used" but I guess you could say "Asientos de inodoro, de propiedad previa"

Gracias for the caution, Niki-B. ma'am.  However, Mama T-B. is consciously downsizing, aware senior she man.  The mandatory evacuation surrounding the flooding (false alarm, relief man) rattled her into realizing that dealing with a whole casa is too much, reality man.  She already has her destination (retirement complex) arranged, organized senior she man.

 

She gave us 2 gigantic bags + 1 box of books, donate she man.

We took them to Half-Price Books just this morn, cluttering up the T-B.-mobile man.

HPB took a surprising number and gave us $Many ($2x2x2x2+2) for them, a first man.

We donated the rest (2x2x2x2x2+[2x2x2x2]+2+1) to a charity, off our hands now man.

Many.  but I guess you could say "Asientos de inodoro, de propiedad previa"

What's "brunch" in spanish. I've always wondered if there is a single spanish word for it when on the hunt for food with my wife.

haha we say ''brunch'' as well! 

''desayuno tarde'' is the translation but we don't say that, we just say brunch.

For example, here one can say "play date," but in Spanish, that term takes half a dictionary, egad man.

What good is learning Spanish if one must use the English terms regardless, huh man?

 

Just yesterday, we asked Mrs. T-B. if "inundacion" meant what we thought it did, assume we man.

She confirmed our thinking, agree she man.

We said, "Why don't you just say 'flood,' huh man?"

 

And why bother calling it "desayuno tarde" when no one in South America shows up on time for anything anyway, huh man?

Englis has some awesome short words to say a lot of things that I wish we had in Spanish!

haha the play date. you would have to describe what you're doing and it takes like 20 min, same with carpooling,

A lot of people just say carpool instead of explaining the concept. 

inundanción is not that big of a word

On the topic of decluttering, my mother has been doing a version of Swedish death cleaning ever since she saw the horror of my dad's house and how long it took to clean out.  I really wish more old people would do this.
