Took me a total of 2 hours to fillet the fish, and saving the collar bones and fish heads....

Had some hot coffee, ate 2 hotdogs, took a shower. 

One of the fish stabbed me in my right index (striped bass have very sharp and large dorsal spikes, and sharp gill plates), right on the knuckle, it's in excruciating pain. 

Another dorsal got me in the left knee right through my jeans. 

Nursing my battle wounds now....

Duh! 

That is probably it. I've got the stove and deep fryer going now. Making fries and pigs in a blanket. Too lazy and tired to make much else.

Pike have some nasty gills and bones. 

 

Hmm I need to find an old picture of the one I caught when I was about 5 ice fishing with my dad. That sucker gave me such a fight. My father didn't think it was too big and left me to pull it up. No rods hand to pull the line up by hand. I hand to do it bare hand and it was still slipping out of my hands. He was busy getting one on the other line. So much fun that day and I got the biggest fish :)

I gorged on home cooked steamed striped bass, and tofu parsley soup made with the head, collar, and belly. 

There's a saucer full of marrow that is sweet to the palate...

Feeling kinda content now...

Speaking of cilantro, Mrs. T-B. made an otherwise delicious meat/potato soup this eve but poisoned it with same, gag we man.

We wouldn't put up with this even if she were a rubia, uncompromising we man.
