Is it just me or does 36-40 look thinner than 30-35%?

I think it is interesting that the media pushes very thin women, but I personally find someone this shape to be the most aesthetically pleasing:

chubby-young-woman-in-body-stocking-pict

i have always thought that with that chart too.

theres a reason why the chart looks only at belly fat too.  for instance ashley graham has a great hourglass figure but many women arent blessed that way.  The more belly fat you have, the worse it is for your health. The availability of curves is a combination of fat distribution, genetics, and muscle tone.

Personally i think anywhere between 18-26% bf is astheticially pleasing in terms of belly fat on a female.  But each person is a little individual.  For instance  my best friend has long legs, a short waist, and is naturally curvy.  Regardless of weight, she has an hourglass figure based on her bust waist hip measuremeants.   Whereas I have a long waist and short legs.  My hourglass figure is less defined.  In fact due to the width of my shoulders you could say Im top heavy but my lack of bust totally defys that theory.

I have natural hourglass figure. For the first time in my life, I'm at  the 36-40% range (pretty sure the one who made the chart messed up the pictures and used the 30-35 one). I'm 5'4" and the fat is accumulating in my belly, which had never ever happened before. It used to go all to my butt.

I really need to lose weight. I'm so frustrated about it because I never had problems sticking to a diet before and it's been quite a challenge this time around.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!

I gained about 25lbs all in fat when I moved down here during the first 5 years.  I went to the gym and was measured at 33% BF.  Right now I'm probably at 26-27 and I have been down to 20% which is my ideal IMO for my body. But I haven't been eating as well as I should "insert all the excuses here."

Meal planning, making ahead and portion control does most of the work for you in terms of getting rid of weight.  That means I have to weigh every ingredient that goes into a meal so I have the most accurate calorie count.  It's a lot of work and lets be honest, I get lazy.  It's almost second nature to measure everything though and measure the result into equal portions.  The hardest part is actually snacks... Hubs is trying to put on weight so we have bagels and snacks for him and I have NO self control.  *hangs head in shame*

So if you want a book that you can follow, try this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098PYV7Q/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

It really does work and gives you a year of work outs and explains why you are doing what you do.  It totally coincides with my personal trainer certification workbook as well, except for the lack of cardio.  LOL

Also it's much harder when you have kids.  last time I was fat was 2007-8.  Kiddo was like 4-5 and I had to find a gym with a good child care area so I could take work out classes.

Thanks! I'll check it out. I'm frustrated with my lack of self-control. We have a gym here in the building where I work, but <here come my excuses> it's a pain in the ### to bring workout clothes and stuff to shower after, when you commute 1 hour/ each way to work. I would really like to go to the gym that's a few blocks away where they have Body Combat. I'm a Les Mills gal (well, was) and Combat has always helped with my anxiety and added the much needed cardio. Before moving to the US I was in the gym 6 days a week.

I mentioned here before that ARG is a pretty image driven country. I will get off the plane in December and the first thing that will come out of someone's mouth will be.... humm what happened to you?

Funny anecdote... during my first year of college, I had an internship at a hotel. When you work at hotels, you need to have a lot of self restrain when it comes to food, especially if it's a 5*. All food that's left over, it's usually put out there for employees. I put on 20 lbs in 2.5  months. School was about to start again and I had gone to pay tuition (the 90s...no paying online). The finance secretary that took my payment,  took one hard look at me... scanned me up and down and said.. C'ma'am, is it me or you've gained a little weight?

I will never forget her

I find with kids that the best workouts tend to be at home.  Sometimes it is the only way.

The bulk of my semester work is over with in a couple of weeks and then I can get back to the gym too.  I've barely got any spare energy to keep up with chores at the moment and my priority list kind of looks like: 1. school, 2. chores, 3. working out.   I have been able to walk a bit, so that is at least better than last time as I've retained some muscle mass.  After the last baby, I looked like a marshmallow on toothpicks because my poor legs had withered away to nothing.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

If it makes you feel any better, my gym is also only a few blocks away and is 24 hours and I still find reasons not to go.  Mind you, only really having time between 8pm - 1 am is annoying.

My wallet is too thick (not with cash, either). I carry it in my left back pocket. It's messing up my back when sitting too much...

Next, there's an extraordinary amount of fooks on the streets today...

Next, I took a few days off. The office calls me panicking about ####....

And, I wasn't planning on going in till...

Like 2 Mondays from now.

Then I'm only going in for 4 days, then taking off the rest of November.

See if I can get some fishin' ana huntin' done...

We say excuses but, I'm sorry, as important as it is to workout, we need some time to ourselves. You have more than 1 kid. I can only imagine how much you need some Nola time.

I put Mini to bed and after doing chores I want to wind down from the day. Mini goes down between 8 and 9. I go to bed at 11 because I want some time, but otherwise I would go to bed at 10.  I'm so tired.  Wake up at 5.30, get Mini ready, drop him off at daycare, get on the bus to work, leave work, get on the bus again and land at home between 6.30 PM and 7. I've been looking into fun workouts to do at home with him but haven't found anything that I would get into yet. Maybe, I just need to start moving while playing Moana.
