No you don't.  Independent people don't understand the co-dependency of others.  It's the same thinking that makes you and I go, "Why don't you leave that jerk that's beating the ####### out of you?!"   But they love them and everything will be better and he/she did say they were sorry. 

 

I notice it in myself when it comes along and internally (occasionally externally) freak out and go do something "independent."

I've been there myself, thinking back to my behavior in Denmark.

 

I think one of the great things that come with age, should really be the ability to sort of define yourself as independent and self-aware.  I think of how much more in position of power I am to walk away from a bad relationship or situation because I know that I'm fine on my own, both emotionally and financially.

One direction blinks yellow. Cross traffic blinks red. 

The fooks have no idea what either of these lights mean. Wreaking havoc on traffic...

That messes up MOST intersections.  People with the flashing yellow start stopping all the time because they're dumb and people with flashing red think they can go and it's a 4 way stop (like if they all flash red.)  When they do all flash red people can't figure out when the next group to go is.  Whenever lights go out it's always havoc.
