That's pretty scary Trudi, I didn't realize she would have the wherewithal to carry that all through. I don't know what on earth you can do if she's financially independent

But he did say that Asians tend to do worse in scar tissue. So he put a stent in my tear duct to prevent the scar from impeding. It comes out in a month or so.

She's not got a lick of sense, she is honestly like a 10year old in a grown woman's body, they haven't done her any favors keeping her so isolated  growing up 

There is a legal thingy they had drawn up giving her grandmother control of her money for a while, not sure it'll help as she gives her anything she wants anyway!

There are some wonderful posts a few years back in the MENA sub forum on here with some of the ladies warning against the "not my Ahmed" type of thinking.  

 

Maybe persuade her to study abroad in Scandinavia?  They won't notice if she is weird.   Not that I'd know anything about that.

That's a great idea. If she will look at it with an open mind. The thing is, she may be of the mindset her 'boyfriend' would never do that. You see a lot of that sort of denial here on VJ

MIL, did a good job painting the cupboards (if you ignore the gouge marks...)

She then managed to overhear a conversation me & red neck were having and repeat it (with her own unique interpretation of what was said) to stepdaughter who was the subject of the conversation.

Very upset stepdaughter when she got home from church last night forced a conversation we weren't fully ready for about 20 year old Moroccan men contacting naive 17 year old American girls on FB

Thankfully, you have A LOT of real life examples that will help you present your case. If she doesn't get it, send her to us.

 

This is going to sound a bit froaked up, but if she can be so easily manipulated you could potentially do some work to stir in a different direction

I am lucky in that for some weird reason she loves me, to the point of copying everything I wear/say/eat etc

She will listen to what I say (so long as I can keep the rest of em quiet)

It's sad really, she is a pretty good kid, loving, eager to please, generous but she is so damn needy you just know it's going to end badly at some point
