We seriously need a third door installed or maybe to stack baby gates or something.  In a minute flat the little Dane manages to move the furniture across the floor, climb the gate and get into my daughter's room.  I'd put a baby lock on just her door, but she seems to struggle with them and honestly, I'm a bit more concerned about the front door, which is also accessed the same way and can't take a baby lock.  The Dane still hasn't installed a chain lock on that one.

Toddlers, aaarrrggghhh.

Put a lock higher up on the door...

Part of the problem is that he'll just find something to stand on.  He's a ninja.

I did buy a new lockset replacement, so I might end up putting that in and then holding the key for it.  It seems all the keys for the locks in our house didn't come with it...the same idiot who removed a ton of doors must be responsible for that nonsense.

Is the step daughter being contacted by Moroccan men?

She is yes, reading the messages between them is like reading the guide to green card scammers :(

Our conversation determined that her and her friends think 'foreign' boys are more romantic that local lads and more respectful - I have a meeting at her school this morning to discuss with them

Life was so quiet and mundane in the UK, no internet or Facebook to worry about when the kids were young there 😂

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

She's definitely naive then, but no more so than a lot of people I see on visajourney.  It is in a way good that she isn't so jaded about life.  At 16/17/18 pretty much half of my senior high school class was sleeping together and not monogamously (wonders of boarding school), so there is some consolation for you.  My parents were non-involved by the time I was 17 - I drove, had my own car, went away to college, etc.  :P  I don't think, though, that I would have been interested in romantic and respectful guys at that age.  I wanted rough bad boys.   Teenagers, *sigh*.  I'm hoping my daughter isn't like me.

That might work, and it has the added benefit versus the mortise lock of being openable without a key and from both sides.

The older one still can't operate the thumb locks on the bathroom door either.  In her defense, they do take a bit of force, but still.

Taking a couple of days off for eye surgery...

That is probably a wise choice. The Hillbilly needs to have eye surgery too. He's stalling like he does with everything else. I told him he needs to up his life insurance since he won't take care of himself.
