I know right!

The Hillbilly can't even make an appropriate tuna salad sandwich. Which btw I hate regardless so I won't ever correct him on the proper way to make one. He can suffer and eat an inadequate sandwich.

Mr.-C  could not figure out hard boiled eggs. He manages omelettes, pancakes and breakfast sandwiches. To me,  cooking is therapeutic or just a routine but if I forgot an ingredient, I move on... He grows desperate and loses his mind. As we say in Spanish.. he drowns in a glass of water.  First time he made pancakes for breakfast, I thought he was going to get a panic attack. He put a bit more baking powder than my recipe called for and it was the end of the world.

He cooks over the phone so well, though!

Sunny here today, but the wind! The MIL has a 4 ft tall tin Halloween black cat hanging on the front door, and I've just retrieved that from next door's bushes. Meant to get worse all afternoon, so I am bringing in the pot plants this afternoon. I did get the orchids in this morning, she had me put them out on little glass-topped tables last spring on the porch off her bedroom, and this morning they were rocking in the wind. I've got several out there I will have to dig up and repot, but I have until Friday to get to those. First frost that night. I'll just wrap the little spruce trees in burlap and I'll be done.

I have to finish a pair of baby booties for a friend today. She found them on my Etsy page but wants different colours. I've got to get the husband and his Mum to three separate doc's appointments this week, and the dog to the vet. The dog will be the easy bit :D

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

My sister is like that too. One year she gave me all of her pots and pans my mom bought her. She thought it was the pots that burnt everything

Both. I quilt, piece and quilt by hand, do hairpin lace, crewel and cross-stitch. I sew a lot, garb and costume making mainly. The only thing I couldn't get the hang of was tatting. It's all just really cheap therapy :D

My mother blames the stove, it is either that she's unfamiliar with my stove or her electric stove is so horrible.  I never had any issues with her stove or mine.

It's really gusty here. It can be quite calm for a bit and then suddenly everything starts rattling. We have the backyard enclosed by a 6 ft board fence. She put it up when she had greyhounds to keep them in, and yet allow them to run around which they loved to do. Now we have this tiny Yorkie, and as the fence was built to keep the big dogs from jumping over, not much attention to the clearance at the ground. Libby could get under it all over before I blocked it up. I noticed her hanging around the two big gates today, and before long the bolts were shrieking and groaning with the wind. That put her off!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Love it! I crochet.. or crocheted anyway. During my pregnancy I had to stop because I had severe paint that affected my arm (later discovered it was a major herniated disk).. then Mini-C was born and it's worse than trying to crochet or knit with a cat. I can't wait until he is older to get back on the horse.

I sold off my entire knitting stash a few months ago because I hadn't really used it much since before the first one was born.  My daughter was pretty mild compared to the destructive power of my son, but just could not resist touching the knitting.   Sewing is a bit easier with the kids, harder for them to unravel.

I've always done something. It's my Grandmother's fault  :)   My sister and I are the same age for about 7 weeks every year, and she looked after us when my Mum went back to work. Her solution to squabbling kids was to sit us down and give us something to do. It all came in useful at some time or other over the years. My kids are well grown and gone, and there won't be any grandchildren so I like to make cute patterns up I see and give them away or sell them on. The friend who wants the booties for her new grandson is someone I went to grade school with, and that is more than 55 years ago. She never learned to do any of that stuff but wishes she had now she's retired and finding the days long.

I still have it and every time I go to JoAnn's or Michael's I get the itch. Mini C is 19 months and turning into quite the hard headed terrorist. My MIL gave me a sewing machine but I haven't given that a try yet. I'm still hopeful!!

I started crocheting while I was waiting for my EAD. I was losing my mind from not doing anything. I needed something that would help me concentrate. My nonna did it all too... I didn't think I could crochet but it would appear I  inherited some talent from her.

No time to catch up sorry :(

been running child round to chorus recital/chorus practice/dentist etc

Redneck asked MIL to paint our new bathroom cabinets ( we figure she's feeling left out/ unwanted since she moved back to her house) he's done the undercoat and first coat so we figured it would be simple but she'd feel needed...

I've been out running the child around and have come in to discover she's used steel wool on all the surfaces and I walked in just in time to see her adding water to the paint - he's going to go crazy when he gets up in about an hour.

For the first time I am actually happy I have to go collect the child in an hour 😁

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Too bad she isn't one of those nice old ladies that sits around and pets a fake robotic cat.
