It is 5° F here today and I'm gearing up to go for a walk.  It finally got above 0!  The high on Saturday is going to be -18°F with a low of -29°F before this cold spell breaks.  Today I'm like:

That was how we were too. Once you got -40 for weeks on end -26 is awesome ice fishing weather.

Cold here too. Funny, I loved all of my younger years in Ontario, cold and snow the usual thing.  Winters in NZ meant damp cold and rain. I remember coming out of work at 0600 to find the car windows iced up a couple of times. No central heating there either.

 

But here, I have heating, the cold is nothing like as bad as other places I lived, but it seems to get to me more. Age, I am going to have to put it down to that.

I don't like the damp cold of Denmark and England in the winter even though it is warmer.  I find the dry cold more bearable.  My mother is having trouble with the cold here even though we have the heat set up high in the house.

I loved the winters when I was younger. But sadly at 17 when I became pregnant I also became allergic to the cold. I could no longer go swimming. Lakes in Northern Ontario do not get warm. I get covered in hives if I get cold, blood pressure drops fast and can go into hypothermia very fast. So winters sucked big time unless I was covered from head to toe. Not very productive to go shopping like that.
