She knows what they're looking for, but she keeps wanting to do it her way. 

I think she got the point. 

I assess that if she took the test today, she might get a 4.

If she wasn't so stubborn, she'd definitely get a 4. 

But eh...It's only third grade...

 

It's her own fault, I've come to have high expectations of her.

Oh gosh, I don't bother with those.  I think they give the school/teacher a good idea of where the child actually is progress-wise.  

 

We're struggling enough as it is with the spelling tests with simple words.  She finally didn't fail one this past week (she got all but one right) after we had a thorough conversation about word roots and the different language origins of words (Germanic vs. French etc.).  Maybe she finally remembered how to spell them just to shut me up.    

 

That kid just doesn't care about school.  Such is how it is, but sadder still is that it still puts her above average in these standardized language arts tests.  It is a little shocking.

 

The little Dane is language-delayed too.  I don't get it.  I should stop marrying people who got held back a grade maybe.

Man these common core tests are all BUT about testing for knowledge. 

It's clearly designed for political reasons. 

To dilute the test results into the grades, so that they can say that these kids are all on par. 

Blatantly insisting that it will get these kids ready for the work place, it couldn't be further from the truth. 

Accuracy is what counts in the real world, not method.

However, the quality middle schools, high schools, all want 4s on these tests starting 4th grade. 

So....what to do? Get the kid to score 4s.

Aaah, I see, they are using them as entrance exams in a way?   I just had to take the ISEE for high school and an IQ test to get into the earlier school.

Kind of a wasted Saturday, sigh man.

Got to bed (again) at half-past Many, too late/early man.

However, awoke at half + half-of-half an hour till noon, decent length of zzz man.

 

Mrs. T-B. in a mood all day, tolerate she we man.

Mini-B. wanting socializing, social wee man.

First amigo to visit = older neighbor boy, not a good match man.

Amigo wouldn't follow Mini-B.'s suggestions, didn't have to man.

Amigo went home early, don't blame him much man.

Mini-B. teary-eyed, no understand lack of cooperation wee man.

 

We purge-organized our linen closet, out-of-control man.

Meanwhile, Mrs. T-B. stank up whole casa "cooking for several days so I don't have to cook again" she man.

"Cooking" includes starting the vent-fan when or before the cooking starts,  man.

 

Second amigo to visit stayed for Many (2+2+almost 1) hours, exhaustive man.

After closet work, we napped for an hour, exhausted we man.

Mrs. T-B., still in mood, took Mini-B. to an amiga's casa for 2 hours, bye she & wee man.

We changed all beds and are warshing/baking/soon folding, plus dished the warsher man.

Mrs. T-B. in somewhat better mood since returning, vacate she man.
