We got ours at a supermarket pharmacy that gave out Many%-off (2x2x2+2%-off) coupons for store purchases, $i man.

Used coupon for Thanksgiving purchases and firmly impressed WCG, score man.

In my wife's case, she wouldn't be able to work at the hospital without a flu shot which means we wouldn't enjoy that filthy lucre we get from her employment.

My MIL continues to phone everyone in her phone book to tell them she is on her death bed, I am having to call after her to tell folk she isn't *sigh*

She needs essentially lied & exaggerated her symptoms until they got her cardiologist to the hospital and yesterday they took her to the cath lab for a closer look.

The leaky valve he says can't be fixed as the benefits would not be sufficient to justify the long and difficult recovery, she has some blockages in her arteries that aren't enough to warrant a stent and can be managed by medication - she should be happy that she's 83 and in damn good health!

The bad news is she comes out today and is already demanding a new chair as ours are not comfortable for her, she wants my dog out of the house as she's decided she's allergic to him (I told her she'll leave first)

It's going to be fun...

I'd tie her to a tree in the yard before I'd put the dog out. I love how they think they can dictate terms. As though they are still in charge. It's your home, after all, tell her to take something for her 'allergy'.

 

Mine is meant to go to rehab today. She's called me 5 times so far to tell me that. She is meant to call and tell me where to bring her bag. Now we have crickets.

I'm here to pick mine up, her list of 'needs' includes a hospital reclining chair, additional heat in the bathroom, a different meal to whatever we might want to eat, a TV on the ceiling in her room....

It wasn't expensive, and it is totally my style. 

I  wanted a Vespa, but at more than 3 times the cost it wasn't worth it, especially since I'm only staying for 6 months or so and needed a vehicle to move around town. 

I want to take it to Austin with me, but I know it's expensive, and a logistical/permit/paperwork nightmare. I'll look into it, just in case it's an actual possibility and it doesn't end up being a ton of money, it's funny since it's mostly people buying American cars and legalizing them here. The brand is Italika, It's a Mexican/Latin-American company.

 

On top of that, I'm changing my INE (ID card) and getting a motorcycle license, the bike's license plates, insurance etc. this week. It's boring but at least it makes me feel like I'm somewhat stable and my life is going somewhere, even if it's just me pretending to be stable for a while.  My husband arrives in 5 days and that's exciting as well, we are spending a month together Hopefully an approval letter will arrive while we're here so we can close the year with it I can't think of a better present, but I'm slowly realizing it might not happen this year at all, and I'm also getting emotionally ready for the possibility.
