Speaking of discounts, see man:

We have mentally eyed getting a better mattress for the sake of our back, reincarnate us as an invertebrate NOW please man.

Mrs. T-B. can't handle Mini-B.'s puny twin mattress, often sleep with wee man she man.

On Sat., we road-tripped to a mattress place that manufactures their own, in-house factory man.

We got a premium queen and near-premium twin, including tax/delivery/removal, for just $Many, expensive but a deal man.

Besides the showroom discount of $Many00, we asked the salesman, "Have you applied all possible discounts, check for us man?"

He returned with a further discount of $Many00, generous cutdown man.

The best news is that the new mattress will not need replacement in the typical Many (2x2x2) years, no man.

It will last indefinitely, coil quality man.

Furthermore, if it doesn't last indefinitely, the co. will fix or replace it, stand by one's work man.

This is similar to how we treat our POTS customers, except when we upsell them instead, si man.

Further furthermore, Mini-B. had a blast jumping from showroom mattress to showroom mattress, excited wee man.

MIL called last night after we got home from visiting, the surgeon won't operate because the cat scan showed a problem with liver & heart function.

She was very confusing on what the problem is and what they are going to do so I've been here since 7 and will be here until the doctors come round.

The problem with her is that she appears to be totally with it and understanding of everything she's told but she doesn't and forgets important details as soon as they are said.

I've already spoken to the nursing staff and made them aware that she has memory/understanding problems but that she can blag it like a pro, they are going to make sure the doctor speaks to us in future, in the meantime she's called everyone and told them she's going to die any second :(

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

It's really quite amazing in one way. They can look as sharp as a tack, and yet not be able to relate what they've just been told. I did the same thing, Trudi. Our Docs here in town don't make rounds at the weekend, only the junior house staff. I found that out by waiting an entire Saturday morning that they weren't coming. So I had the Charge Nurse page him.  If they don't turn up, try that. This HIPPA thing is all well and good, but as they kept discharging my MIL into my care, I kind of really did need to know what was going on with her. She had no idea.

Is your MIL a good historian?  It can be a problem if when the doctors are planning treatment and care it's  based on information that is faulty. My MIL cannot remember very much in the short term, so tends to make up what she doesn't know.  Her doctor finally wrote on her chart that she was 'given to wild elaboration'.

Hang in there. I know how hard this all can be. I've often thought it would be easier if I were dealing with my own Mother, and not my Husband's. I'm a bit like the red-headed stepchild in this scenario, and it makes the MIL and her daughter difficult to deal with.  *hugs*

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Last day at the apartment, I'm truly going to miss it.

It's the first time I felt ''like  home'' in an airbnb, out of like 9 or 10 of them.

But it's time to go to Cozumel, I miss my parents and my dog Tapioca. She is an adorable boston terrier.

I'm also planning our first wedding anniversary, I'm thinking Valladolid in Yucatán, stay at a cute eco hotel with a temazcal,

and for our anniversary dinner,  the cenote Zazil Tunich. They have a romantic dinner package but it's pricey (350 USD)

So I'm thinking of doing the regular tour and dinner instead (40 USD ) no privacy or wine, but an affordable price tag.

It's close enough to Cozumel that it isn't terribly expensive, but exciting enough as opposed to staying in Cozumel only.

*hugs*

The doctors all have access to her full medical history as it's all computerized here or she'd also have a notation 😂

We've seen all her doctors now and much to her disappointment she's not going to die any time soon! (She got really mad at the doctor when she asked for a prognosis and he said based on her current health he can see her being around another decade!)

She has a faulty valve in her heart and has to see her cardiologist next week & should be home later today (she's going to fight that...)

The bad news (for me) is the doctors told her she shouldn't live on her own so she's coming here permanently... Buckle up this is going to be a bumpy ride!

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Oh boy. Oh no. Like as in forever? I'd be suggesting she goes into care.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
