Got my EAD card last week(9/29) and they printed wrong DOB!!! PLEASE give me an insight on this.

HI, I really need a good advise on my case. 

 

Ive received the notice of employment approval and EAD card in the mail on (9/29/17).  It was like the most exciting part of my Green Card process, now I can finally have a job and work legally.  As soon as we opened the envelope, my wife quickly realized that DOB on the EAD is wrong......  What a disappointment.....Now I know for the fact that, in order to get on payroll, you will need a SSN to do so, EAD just lets ppl work in the US legally.   This is really a pain since I had a good managing job lined up and now I have to wait for another 30-60days to get the new card with correct DOB issued and sent to me.   Well, pretty much loosing the job at this point.  

 

My question is, Can I still apply for the SSN at the SSA if I explained my situation to them?  Is there a possibility that they might just go ahead and issue me a SSN and later ask me for the correct EAD card?

Someone please give me an insight, I feel so discouraged and not knowing what to do anymore for next couple months......

Ive already sent a request to them and had a conversation with the officer.   Its still gonna take a long time to fix now........
