I haven't heard back from my lawyer yet, but despite evidence to the contrary she's under the impression that I need a new medical exam done. I immigrated from Canada last month and had an exam done for my K-1 visa in June of this year. Meaning, if this forum and the instructions on the I-693 are right, that I'm well within a year of the medical. I have a fully completed (and marked as such) DS-3025 vaccination form as well as the receipt breakdown that shows I had full tests done for TB, gonorrhea, etc. from my first exam. 

 

I should be good just to give those (or at least the DS-3025) to my lawyer, right? I can't understand why my lawyer is insistent on a new exam and I'd love to avoid paying for one I don't necessarily need. What do I do?

As long as you file for AOS within 1 year of the medical expiring, and provide the DS-3025, you should be good to go. A new medical is not required.

Get rid of your lawyer.

You can show your lawyer info from this thread and then fire her and find a competent lawyer, matter of fact you don't need a
lawyer unless you have a complicated unusual case.

AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Nah you are good with your DS-3025 and its valid for one year for AOS.... 

 

And yea like @Meg&Andrew said.... change your lawyer :P

I am glad I did not waste money on a lawyer or a service to do the paper work for AOS, AED, and AP after my fiance, now wife, came over on a K-1 Visa. They were trying to take $1500!

VisaJourney has been a lot of help. There is so much information and helpful people.

 

However, I did use a service for the K-1 Visa. At the time I had never dealt with USCIS and was intimidated at the thought of doing the paperwork with a foreign county (Vietnam); especially since my knowledge of the language is not good enough to read and understand legal documents. I also never knew about VisaJourney!

Just add a copy of your DS-3025 to the AOS package and ship it off. 

 

Oh and fire your lawyer, file for AOS yourself.
