I sure hope we aren't sending aids to other country.

 

As for aid - Our support of 3rd world countries does not automatically grant us the respect of our international peers. They are two separate things.

 

We can't just say "Look I know we insult you, undermine you, and are trying to push the world into WW3....but look we give aid to poor countries! Please stay friends!"

That symbolic, non-binding agreement that had no specific obligations attached to it. Yes, that was definitely ruining us. Being a member was DEFINITELY ruining our reputation.

 

Much better to be a non-member. We are in much better company. With our best buds. Who were they again? Nicaragua and Syria I think?

 

Ya pulling out if that improved our international reputation. That's exactly what it did....sure...

We have never been seen as bigger fools than we are now. If you can't see that, you're oblivious.

 

Like it or not, outside the US most of the publicity is around the Executive branch. The President is our representative. 

 

There are too many examples right now of the President saying one thing, his cabinet and secretaries "walking back" because clearly what the President said is inappropriate. Foreign policy is probably the most common example right now.

 

That does not give us a great reputation internationally. We are seen as foolish because our President is foolish and days foolish things.
