I have a question, once the NVC sends the consulate the packet from uscis how long after does the beneficiary get the instructions in the mail?  and do we have to wait on that instructions packet to come in the mail in order to get the medical done?

Once the Embassy receives packet 3 then within 2-3 weeks the beneficiary will receive the packet 4 (instructions checklist mail). You will be needing that mail as proof to get medicals and police certificate.

That's the maximum time that will take to receive in most cases. I didn't receive it in the 4th week and when i contacted UStraveldocs they said they have already sent the mail 3 weeks ago and they said it must have got lost in the mail and so they sent me the instructions to my e-mail. Usually police certificates for immigration purpose require mail from the embassy or interview letter (at least I was asked in India) so don't worry and have patience

Each country is different, so what the previous individual told you might be relevant to his country's Embassy. However, with Jamaica, everything is done online. Once you see your case status says READY on the CEAC site, you can start Packet 3 online which is filling out the DS-160 which is completed by the beneficiary and once completed the beneficiary prints out the confirmation page and must bring this with them to the interview. The beneficiary needs gathering up the necessary documents such as Police certificate, BC, certificate of non-impediment, immunization records, etc. Once the DS-160 is submitted you can register to pay the visa fee online and schedule the medical first and the interview which the interview has to be at least 10 after the medical.

For JA Embassy, everything is now completed online and can be done almost simultaneously.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

I attached what a previous member posted on to our portal - you will see she provided the letter she received from the Embassy which would be consider Packet 3 so I would recommend using this as a guide on what you and your fiancé will need prior to the interview. However, recently many of the JA members haven't received Packet 3 & 4. They simply start the process once they see their status change on the CEAC site.

I'm not at that stage as of yet, still waiting for my NOA2 which I pray comes any day at this point.

However, stand process time from NOA2 to NVC as of right now is 12-21 days.

Also, I just looked at your timeline, and you're doing the spousal visa - I'm doing the K1 fiancé visa, so the NVC processing time is completely different from one another.

I just looked at your timeline, and you're doing the spousal visa - I'm doing the K1 fiancé visa, so the NVC processing time is completely different from one another. I believe for spousal visa, the NVC stage takes longer than the K1. You would need to ask this question in the spousal visa forum.

how will my fiancé get his appointment letter? the one he has to bring to his medical? is it after I set his schedule at the embassy online?....or is it after they process it from the NVC? I wish there was a general idea of how long until they get the instructions packet
