All one needs to fire any semi-automatic rifle in near-full-auto mode is a thumb and a belt loop.

then why do bump stocks exist? why pay for a bump stock when most of us have a thumb and a belt loop?

Why do some people pay for electric can openers when most of us are capable of using a manual one?

because electric can openers make opening a can a bit easier. where you trying to prove my point there or what?

I wasn’t replying to you, so I didn’t prove your “point”, whatever you were trying to make it be, so no thanks needed.

Bump stocks should be regulated, period, or made illegal.  Just as any other item that can be purchased which induces a rapid rate of fire.  That being said, the same thing can be accomplished without modifying a rifle or buying anything.  Just keeping the facts straight for those who aren’t familiar with guns.

Actually, in none of your posts in this thread do I see you saying anything about bump stocks needing to be regulated or banned.  I saw your negativity in doubting it would happen by your reference to the Sandy Hook affair in post #2 , and I saw you call other members names when they mentioned other devices in post #10.  Perhaps actually stating your point might help other readers understand your stance more than your use of sarcastic one-liners.

If you are indeed for the banning of bump stocks (I’ll assume this is how you feel), then my comment that only a thumb and a belt loop is needed to simulate automatic fire in rifles did nothing to help you to make your point.  But I am glad you took it that way.

i doubted a lawsuit would happen. and i didn't call anyone any names. perhaps your critiquing of my posts says more about you than me, why so angry because we agree?

rubber bands do not have the sole purpose of being a gun accessory

A Texas Aggie stooped to pick up something from the floor of a crowded bank lobby.  He looked around, then asked in a loud voice, "Did anyone lose a large roll of bills with a rubber band around it?"  Several people said, "I did!  I did!"  The Aggie said, "Well, I just now found the rubber band."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Once again the Dems and MDL have managed to hijack any sane discourse about gun violence in the USA and turn it into a joke.

If every bump stock in the USA disappeared tomorrow it would not affect gin violence rates in the USA enough to change the percentages 1/100 of a percent

No, weapons of war.

That would reduce the gun deaths in America less than 1%, assuming they did not choose other weapons and do it anyway.

Hands and feet kill more people in America every year than , so called assault style weapons.

Almost 400 people murdered in just Chicago this year,  almost exclusively by handguns.

Yet the MDL only wants to talk about bump stocks and magazines.

It really makes no sense.
