You know... by looking at Evelyns Facebook page (yeah I'm a snooper peeper), what a great way to get her music promoted by being on 90 Day Fiance.  https://www.facebook.com/EvelynCormierMusic/    Quote from her page, "I have some exciting news to share. Some of you may remember me alluding to a unique opportunity or new project that I have been working on over these past couple of months. Well, now I can finally share with you what it is! I have been cast in a reality show called, "90 Day Fiance" which follows the K-1 visa process, but also gives a behind the scenes look at my life as a musician. The premiere airs this Sunday, October 8th at 9 pm on TLC. I hope you will tune in!!"

She seems to be promoting her music more from her 90 Day standpoint... wonder if she is using that to get ahead in her musical career to get her name out there.  "Just a thought.  I could be wrong".

I'm not convinced about Luis's intentions (Luis'sss, sounds funny)

I have Dominican friends, and even though real relationships obviously do exist, in DR (like in other third world countries,  Ghana, Philippines etc) getting an American is considered almost a business. Men and women go to every length possible to be able to land jobs in the tourist industry/hotels where they have easy access to Americans/Europeans. There’s even a movie on this topic, it’s called Sanky Panky, and that’s the name given to a Dominican looking for what we call ''gringos'' The goal is to marry an American or European and leave the island/escape poverty. They will charm the victims with everything they've got and they're pretty convincing at that, that's why lonely, middle-aged divorced men and women are such good targets, unfortunately. but once they get those documents they usually bail, for someone younger/hotter, claiming ''the relationship just didn't work'' This is why I honestly believe catching fraud is such a difficult thing to do, especially because most times, the U.S citizens don't have a clue they're being tricked and the bona fide evidence seems solid. I wonder how many people are unknowingly going through this on VJ, I wish it could be prevented more.

Well unlike Evelyn’s assumption, I really feel that the majority of relationships are legit. I know of more US-US couples to have gotten a divorce than US-foreigner couples. In fact, I personally know 0 US-foreigner couples to have had a divirce (granted I know way less of these couples, but still).

Anyways, I cant get a read on Luis yet. Lots of Latin men love a curvy woman and they love kids so I could see that being real.

Also, I feel as US citizens we view being in the US as the greatest thing ever. But even in poverty people love their country & family. It’s not easy to leave. My husband’s favorite thing to do back in his country is go home to his family house in the ghetto and go to the crappiest bar in town. He loves it. Those are his people.

Of course, fraud exists. And many people see the US as a holy grail. But I have tried to give these couples the benefit of the doubt. Until they pull a Moh on me! :jest:

Poor David, he had no idea what he was getting into with Evelyn. It's her way or no way. She has no consideration for his family or friends travelling there for the wedding. Then again most spoiled 18 year old's wouldn't.

So did it get this right, Nicole has cheated on Azan twice now or was it just once before they met?

Yes, she is good looking for a 36 year old.  I think what irks me about her is she acting and strutting around flipping her hair like she's some kind of young supermodel.  I'm not saying 36 year old women (or any women) shouldn't be self-confident, but from the previews (I admit, they are only previews out of context) she seems a bit vain.  But when your man has you on a pedestal and calls you his high school cheerleader, it may seem appropriate.

I agree that she wears too much makeup.

Her body  is good for a 36 year old woman, but her face is damn uggly. It's not just the horrible make up,she is fugly.!

OK, I did the CR-1 process so I'm a bit vague on the K-1 but how did Andrei get an interview appointment and Elizabeth knew nothing about it? She was talking as if they were still waiting in NOA2 ("we filed 7 months ago and still waiting"). Surely the NOA2 is mailed to her? Did she not track it online?

She seems rather clueless about this whole process really and I will stand behind my assumptions that he will turn out to be an abuser due to some stuff what I heard last night. The thing that stood out to me as soon as I heard it was that " I am worried because Andrei has a bit of a temper, so I am worried that something in his past could affect this".

We see it here too. Barely a week goes by without a thread along the lines of "my fiancé ended the relationship and is not continuing with my K-1. Will this affect my next K-1?" It's an assumption on their part that their next boyfriend will be an American and that he will start the K-1 process. They will just keep going until they get one who sees the K-1 through to the bitter end. It's almost as soon as one boyfriend ends it then are looking for the next. And I think many of them are pushed into it by their parents whose ultimate dream is an IR-5, not the happiness of their offspring. But a few water buffalo will do for now. I'll put money on it that Annie ends up petitioning her parents.

Evelyn (basically the Duggar version of Kathy Bates) - she needs bringing down a peg or two. "There's no such thing as the European dream". OK, let me think what I left behind in Europe.. state-funded healthcare, 8 weeks paid vacation each year, 6 months paid sickness time each year, a year's paid maternity leave (not that I ever had a child), free college tuition, the ability to decide for myself at 18 whether I'm old enough to have a beer, the ability to live and work unrestricted in any EU country, gun laws that mean I can go to a store and not have to worry that a toddler has reached into his mother's bag and found an unlocked, loaded pistol that he accidentally fires....Sure, there's no European dream. Can't for the life of me think why thousands are risking their lives in dangerous, overcrowded boats to get into Europe, or packing themselves into refrigerated food trucks to sneak through the channel tunnel into England, despite almost certain death.

I've seen that, a lot for sure. They make it sound like a game almost, ''oh if this one doesn't work, what about the next?'' the K1/CR1 were designed for couples that were supposed to be in love and wanting to be together, but for a lot of people its a valid way to leave poverty and help their families, just like you mentioned. I'm also sure about Annie as well, she seems to be more concerned about him having enough money to support her and her family, rather than anything else. And he is desperate enough to do whatever he can (even hurting his own relationships, asking for money, etc) to get her.

Ah, Evelyn. But that goes to show you how narrow her view of the world is. She was raised with the idea that the US is the greatest nation, and worse, that her tiny weird culty town is perfectly fine for David. Honestly, if there was a way for me to legally move to Europe or Canada instead of the US, I would totally be on board. I'm actually beginning to worry about moving there, leaving my country which by no means is perfect, but has a lot of great things to offer nonetheless.

Finally watched the rest of the episode! Some thoughts-

Azan & Nicole- I loved how kind his family was with her. We don’t always see nice in laws so that was refreshing. When Nicole revealed she lied to Azan twice, and then somehow spun it so it was his fault for “not moving past it” really shows her immaturity (again).

Annie & David- while she has made it quite clear she’s with David so she can move to the USA, she is more than justified in worrying about his financial situation. SINCE HE HAS NO MONEY. Like literally no money. He keeps borrowing from his friend and his wife is all pissed. Haha. And i know there should be trade off for living rent free in someone’s house but i can’t freaking believe that guy asked if Annie could give him massages. Are you freaking kidding me?!?! That is disgusting and I’m upset his wife (who seems to be the only normal person on the whole show) didn’t say anything.

Andrei & Elizabeth- I have a feeling the “surprise” of the interview was done for the show. She had to have known. There’s such a small chance that she randomly shows up two days before his interview, c’mon now. Also them practicing reminds me of me and my husband. I made him practice questions and he’s all not taking it seriously and answering incorrectly. Now as I teacher I did not stand for that. I was like “if you practice wrong, you’ll do it wrong in the interview!” Finally he did it seriously for me because he respects that I put in all the freaking leg work for the doggone visa.

Evelyn & David- when he told that girl she “sounded single” :jest: I busted out laughing!!! Shade!!! But the single friend does have valid concerns no one seems to care about. And I can’t believe David willingly left Granada for that whiny 18 year old. Granada is one of the greatest cities in the world!!

The other old guy & the cheerleader- meh. Have no opinions really. Nothing crazy so far.

Was anyone else weirded out by David's friend's massage request? And for the friend's wife to not object made me wonder if they're swingers and in on the whole thing while the wife pretends she's upset her husband if financing David? It just doesn't seem legit.

Luis' interaction with Kensley made me really uncomfortable. I don't understand his obsession with her acknowledging him as her father - she's literally a baby. I loved that she put him in his place and told him she has her own father.

The friend's wife is a member of the Facebook group and she has confirmed that the massage part was scripted. She has promised to spill all when the series has finished airing but she got so much criticism for that scene with the massage that she just had to say something. She said they filmed it several times because her husband sounded so fake and couldn't act.

Elizabeth - in the first episode I'm convinced she said she was going for his interview. She must have forgotten she said that when they staged the surprise interview date. Of course she knew - the NOA2 came to her and if she loves him half as much as my husband loves me she would be tracking that case through NVC and the embassy like crazy.

Funny how David's friend was all welcoming with gis friend and the Thai girl  "our house is your house" until he got shot down for the massages. Then it because "the goal is to get you moved out as soon as possible".  Creepy!

What's with the over the hill cheerleader Filipina, her eyes are light blue in some scenes and dark in others.  Or am I imagining it?  The American guy fell "in love" with her and proposed within 5 days of meeting her there.  Can you say desperate?

Nicole cheated twice?  I can think of 2 reasons how this could be possible: (a) she lives in a men's prison, or (b) there are no literally other women in her town.

I'm not condoning domestic violence, but Evelyn needs to get slapped to put her in her place.   What a witch.  "If it's not my way, it's not the right way".

Luis is Molly's live-in babysitter and dogwalker.  That laugh of hers is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Andrei will be arrested for domestic violence within 3 months in America.  This guy is not stable.  You could tell that if they get denied, she has no intention of moving to Europe, but she's desperate enough so she'd do it.
