Of course "taking the knee" isn't spontaneous. Neither action is spontaneous. Pence knew at least one person was going to kneel, and he knew he would be leaving. 

 

The difference is - Mike Pence flew there "pretending" like he wanted to enjoy a game when I really knew all along he would be leaving at the very beginning.

 

Who paid for his trip there?

 

It was a publicity stunt for Pence.

should taxpayers pay for politicians faux patriotism/publicity stunts? we shouldn't. i imagine 250,000 could have been better spent..
