Planning to visit my family back home but scared of my husband

I came to the US one year ago on a K1 visa, my marriage never been great and  me and my husband had fights and problems all the time, since he just lost his previous wife accidentally 3 years ago and still in a shock, he obviously was trying to move on but it doesn't seem to be working, we tried to work it out and now we decided to take a break, he said it would be better if I go back home and see my family, I agreed but I heard from some friends that it's probably his plan to get rid of me easily, and he can call the USCIS and do something to suspend or cancel my green card, now I started worrying and I'm not sure if this right or not. I appreciate your help :)

If you already have your green card there is nothing he can do to cancel or suspend it.

First, if you are scared of your husband and having fights and problems - do you WANT to come back to be with him?

 

How long are you going to be out of the country? 

I guess he could file for divorce while you were gone and if you can prove you came here under the right conditions you can file removal of conditions without him. If you are that worried I would keep your proof at a friends house or some of your valued possessions, just in case. If you dont have someone you could rent a storage if you need to. However if things are really that bad I guess you have to think about what you want long term as well.

Exactly. If you have the green card already, you're good to go and he can't do anything about it.

Your friends are scaring you for no reason, he couldn’t do anything to your green card status even if he wanted and nothing here shows he wants to mess with that just that he is not wanting to fight anymore and have some space so you can both regroup and evaluate what you want. Maybe he just thought you might be home sick and want to see your family? I wouldn’t leave your important documents with these friends, maybe get a safe deposit box instead that way you are in control.
