Would FOIA request to see entire alien file prejudice later visa petitions?

Hey everyone,

I am currently on a nonimmigrant visa. For various good reasons I have decided I would like to submit a FOIA request to view my entire A-file. My only concern is that simply filing a request may be enough to raise suspicions later if I want to / try to apply for a different nonimmigrant visa. Does merely submitting a FOIA request for the entire A-file have this prejudicial effect? If it does not "officially" raise a legal suspicion, do you know of cases when it "unofficially" raises some sort of casual suspicion (in any way).

I am not about to be deported, I am not deportable, I haven't overstayed, I haven't submitted an AOS or anything like that. I would just like to see my file.

Thanks!

Who are you FOIA-ing? Non immigrants don't have a-file so not USCIS.

Consular in State Department - very limited what you'll get in that one.

That isn't true, an A-file is created for any non-citizen entering the United States (barring tourists from visa-free travel countries like Canada). Also, that didn't really answer my question- I wasn't asking who to request it from, I was asking if anyone knows if it would be prejudicial.
