I know this might sound strange or confused, but I am asking because

I am a 2-year conditional green card holder based on a marriage to a USC petition, however, things have been falling apart and we might be getting a divorce soon.

I understand that I could still self-petition to remove the condition based on a divorce or abusive marriage (as that's what my husband does to me,) but still, that seems unpredictable and no guarantee that the self-petition will be approved for sure.

THEREFORE, I am wondering, if a conditional green card holder like me could enter the Diversity Visa program, in case my self-petition ended up not getting approved (which I really hope won't be the case,) I would still be able to get a green card through Diversity Visa if I was lucky enough to be selected.

Does any professionals or lawyers on here know if this is viable or against the rules?

Thanks!

Not a lawyer but

the rules obviously don’t deal with a case like yours but do note that you shouldn’t fill in details of a spouse or children who are LPRs as they don’t need visas ..so the wording is that LPRs shouldn’t enter

But I guess you could enter and if you get selected and are no longer an LPR by then - it would be ok

given the timelines involved even if selected you might have to leave the US first of course.
