Adding new born child in I-130 petition after approved the Petition

Hi there

I'm a US citizen and my wife still in India . We have new born baby girl now. I received approval letter for I-130 petition for my wife after ten days of our new born child in India .

my question is that I’m (the father) is a US citizen. Now does my new born child need US passport or Indian passport to travel to the US.? Because I heard that if father or Mother is US citizen then baby who born in abroad they can get US passport or citizenship through father or mother. 

Is this right?

if yes then what is the procedure to add our new born baby in I-130 petition after approval of the I-130 petition for alien relatives and how can our new born baby can get US passport in India? Even she born in India

You'll do CRBA (consular report of birth abroad) in New Delhi embassy. Go on their website and read the requirements for CRBA. Under American citizen services. 

 

This is is if you qualify with time presence in the US - read all instructions carefully.
