I just logged into my DHS account and there its says nothing about my recent case transfer to NSC. How two different websites are showing two different case history . When I check my status at Uscis , I can see that my case got transfered to Nebraska service center. Can you guys please help me out to understand this craziness? As you all can see the difference in status .

Limey, How did you notice that the case was tranferred? Did the USCIS csase status update?

I check the website periodically with my reference number to see if anything had changed. I was aware from the general timelines that i must be getting towards the period where I might see some action on the case so I'd been checking it more frequently, and I saw the updated information saying that it had been transferred. A couple of days later I got the letter in the mail telling me the same thing.

Whilst I will be glad to get the new GC, the waiting isn't really too bad this time. When waiting for the K1 you're itching to get it so that you can be together, and with the first GC you need it for work, travel, etc. But since I have my letter extending me to 18 months from GC expiry, its no real hassle to have to wait a little. The only irritant is that the machines at the airport see the expired GC and direct me to a human, but I don't travel outside US much more than once a year.

@ Limey:  I agree that it hasn't been too bad until recently when my husband recently lost his mother.  We went to see an attorney in his country to see if they can assist us with getting a visitor visa for his step-father to visit and stay with us in the U.S. to help him with his grieving.  They said that it would be best for our step-father to wait for my husband to receive his 10 yr. GC in order to support his request and have it approved.  I also need to submit paperwork for my  under 21 single step-daughter to come live with us.  I'm not sure if it's best to wait for the 10 yr. GC to be approved before submitting paperwork for this as well.  So, now, due to my mother' in Law's passing,  I'm a bit more anxious to get this approved.

A visitor visa to the US requires nothing from the US. Attorneys/agents usually tend to ask for useless, boilerplate documents to "support" a b2 application.

B2 application asks to list relatives in the US, and thier visa status. List them as green card holders, embassy usually doesn't delve into whether its a 2-yr or 10-yr green card.

Sent an inquiry to USCIS regarding the status and received a response stating that the case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending and a decision cannot be made on the case until the results of the security checks are received.

Anyone else received this message?  I read on another thread that this is a common response from cases  from VSC on back log.  Hope this is true before I begin to freak out.
