Did you guys make a decision about going for citizenship?

Your question is the hot topic of the day over at the October-18 N-400 thread. Take a look:

:)

Thanks @GoodbyeGirl for keeping us engaged.  TBH, we've kind of stuck with just cruisin' auto-pilot on I-751 -- not really checking in as much.  As for N-400, haven't pulled the trigger yet... likely the wait is a while anyways, but my wife likes to feel confident about studying for the tests before we kick-off the process.  Still not sure what the turnaround time for notices, biometrics and not trying to jump the gun in case it goes quickly and she's not ready to test.  Oh the anxiety...

The only other reason that's holding us back is the whole name change deal from her passport to her GC.  Her name in Hong Kong is romanized while the US name change (from initial I-94 which didn't even match... ugh) is completely western-style.  We frequent the BC, Canada border (extended family) and have gotten crossing down to an art with my NEXUS and her GC.  If we get to the point of her passport with the I-551 stamp mismatching her expired GC -- just more trouble to deal with for CBP & CBSA on our regular visits.  ***shrug*** still on the fence.

How long usually Texas Service center takes to approve I 751 after transfer from California service center ? Let me know if anybody have an experience .

Thanks and wish you all the best .

Your best bet in this situation would be to roll a dice. the number on the dice will indicate the number of months it could possibly take.

@1751_HK When did your case get transferred over ? What's your NOA1 date ? Usually with TSC, it is about 4-6 weeks after transfer, hopefully you should get approved before the end of 2018 :)

Hi guys. Since my case was transferred to Nebraska like a week ago, does anybody know how long NSC takes to approve a transferred case from CSC?

@Ali7 NSC is slower compared to TSC, I think there are folks from July 2017 whose cases got transferred to NSC still pending approval

Did you receive transfer notification on Nov 6th ? When did you receive letter that says about location which is  Nebraska in your case ? I haven't received letter yet so I really don't know about location .

I talked to the embassy and they told me that with an expired green card and letter the only way for me to go back is a transportation letter (575 dollars!!!!)

Go to your nearest USCIS field office and get an I-551 stamp, that should work for re-entry purposes
