Hello guys. I’m technically new in here but I have followed this website ever since I filed for my I751 back in October 2017. Anyway,  I see that a few people, me included, got an email this morning saying that our case was transferred. Does anybody know what this means? Im just a bit confused now. Thank you!D7950CC7-3FA9-4776-BD89-AB6DCCA725BB.thumb.png.edda90acc22188eac7f59d3807da138a.pngte

Hope they don't schedule interview in Dec because we are going out of country in Dec . I will have to request for rescheduling in January . Lets see . I know USCIS are not going to be that fast .Lets see

I'm suspecting they are just transferring to distribute workload. Your official notice will explain that it has been happening recently, majority going to Texas.

@hixsy I hope so too!  At least someone saw my papers after all these months 😒  I wonder if this means I can potentially get an interview... I filed in CSC

Just recovered an update that my card is being produced ... WoHooo 😀

Congrats! Go Celebrate!

you filed at VSC and your NOA is 10/26/2017 ? this is 10 days after I filed. with VSC having slower processing times that CSC (so their website says) we could expect to see some CSC approvals  soon too!

Congrats. I also noticed that you filled your N400. I wasn't sure if they combine both cases or process them separately in DC office.  I hope mine will arrive soon.

Quick update here. We got our "official" 18 month extension letter about a month ago. Today we got a new letter that they transferred our case from California to Nebraska service center. The transfer is kinda confusing since we got notice in February that the case was sent to our local office. I would have thought that meant my local USCIS branch. I guess not.

Greencard Received: 2016-01-23

That's a good sign, CSC is currently procesing August 2017 filers, you have a 2 month headstart now when it comes to processing of your case at NSC - you should hopefully get approved before the end of year !

Thanks @GoodbyeGirl!  The date we can file for N-400 was 10/26 (last Friday).  TBH, we're still on the fence on whether we should file and if so... when... for a couple reasons...

  1. Hearing that maybe are getting combo interviews I-751 and N-400, it's sounding like that is a chance that the 10-year GC may not be produced at all.  (Sounds silly, but for sake of posterity -- kind of still want that GC 😋)  I've heard it go both ways on the combo thread.
  2. My wife has obviously started to study, but we don't have a good idea of lead time from applying online > interview.  She wants to feel prepared before we submit the online N-400 application.

I suppose will need to do more research and join the N-400 thread (thanks for sharing!) anyways to observe timelines to answer our question for item (2).  Obviously don't want to take this thread off topic -- but is there a rule of thumb on how long from N-400 to Interview?

Did you guys make a decision about going for citizenship?

Your question is the hot topic of the day over at the October-18 N-400 thread. Take a look:

:)
