They haven't gotten to september have they ? Atleast for the CSC filers, I see a few August filers but that's about it. VSC is a different story however, it's odd that they have a processed cases from September and October but many filers from July and August are pending approval

Welcome HK,

Most of us are still waiting for approval, and I'm almost on the same page as you whereas my last status is from March 4th 2017 " Case was received at My Local Office".

Have you had biometrics done, and did you receive the 18 month extension letter?

For some reason, though I did have my biometrics on May 25th 2018 that doesn't appear on my check case status page... It's all a waiting game.

So sorry for your loss. We will try to help you the best we can. I think you need to convert the form into a waiver and you need to have the death certificate ready. I would try to schedule a infopass appointment to explain it to the officer. Also, call them up and ask how you should proceed.

@AlluringSoul was pretty much on the money. I made an Infopass appt (they're super easy to get here in New Orleans. I had about 30 options to choose from last week alone). Weirdly, when I got there they automatically assumed I was there to get a stamp in my passport (both the screening officer and the one I sat down with) even though when I was there in August they told me that I didn't need to worry about that as long as I had the extension letter. They were both very nice and sympathetic once I explained what I was really there for. Told me to wait until I got the death certificate as I only had the coroner's death notification form (as a suicide it was automatically a coroner's case). At that point my lawyer should type up a  letter asking for a waiver and redo the first page of the i751 and note the changed marital status. If I get an interview they may ask for proof of relationship up to the moment of death so I'll try to find the last few sets of bills (he literally destroyed almost every piece of paper before he jumped). I had put a fair bit of proof in when we filed last October. They said I could wait until the interview (If I had one - he says they normally do have to do them for New Orleans cases cuz we're weird here) but that it was better to have the request on file from my lawyer.

He also stamped my passport so I now don't have to worry about the extension letter and extended that for another year (the letter was to run out in April).

One thing I did learn is that I'm not longer eligible for the i400 at 3 years. I have to wait the full 5 years.

Thanks

Tanya

I'm glad you were able to sort this out and got your passport stamped. It might take a little longer since they have to convert the application but you are on the right path :) Good luck and of course keep us updated on your journey ❤️

They probably transferred your case to speed up processing. California and Vermont have been swamped recently. Wait for the notice in the mail, it will indicate why and where it was moved.
