Hi there!  I filed in January 2018 and on Friday I received the unofficial letter that says

“we have mailed an official notice about this case (and any relevant documentation) accordingly to the mailing preferences you chose on form G-28, notice of entry.... this is a courtesy copy, not the official notice”

We we didn’t even submit form G-28 and When we filed we didn’t submit any attorney info either.

My concern is, where did the offial letter go?

And if  we have a “courtesy unofficial copy” then is not valid?

Should we we call Uscis to let them know about this?

Thank your our for your time!

Yea, I have no idea. I didn't file a G28 nor have a lawyer either. I sent an email to uscis and will call them next week I think.

Just quick question for all of you.. How many of you are you planning to apply for N400 in October?

I am planning on applying in October. I want to get my citizenship as soon as possible as it will provide much more freedom to both my husband and I (travel/global living...also I can vote). I can be dual citizen so that's not an issue for me either.

I was planning to do the same, so I was wondering if some of you feel the same way. Thanks for the respond!

A few of us have received these letters, and no one has reported receiving the real letter afterwards. I recommend you call USCIS. I called twice and received different responses both times. Both calls were useless and showed that they had no idea what they were talking about. However, the more people call, the higher chance they will start taking things seriously. Also, you may get lucky and end up with an agent who actually cares about the fact that they are sending our private information to random people (or lawyers?). Finally, you will need the official extension letter. There's 3 reasons to call.

I also received this notice and I didn’t file with an attorney . I spoke to an agent and she asked me to schedule an info pass .I hope this gets resolved .

I received the same copy of the extension yesterday. Wonder if the original will ever make it to me lol! at this point i am so over this removal of conditions process  i cannot even get myself bothered about this extension. To make myself feel better i have started my online application for naturalization 40 days early lol!. Will keep updating it over the next few weeks so it doesnt delete it in 30 days then i wont have to start over. I just cannot wait to never have to deal with USCIS again. I am so over it!
