Just received this letter saying resident extension letter for 18 months due to delays in times freaked out when I was the logo so I guess there sending extension letters out instead of having people do info passes

Posted

So, hearing a lot of activity on 18 month extension letters.  Are these 18 months in addition? Or from the original GC expiration date?

Also, seeing some activity to me seems better than nothing.  However, we have not received this letter.  We filed at CSC.

What do you all think about updating the progress status sheet with this notated as a new column?  I would like to see the data behind whom has received it?  When? Which center? Transferred? Etc.

Has anyone received the 18 month extension notice that filed in California Service Center? I haven't received mine yet.

Also - anyone have any information on this - we are planning to visit Mexico, does my wife (Afghanistan Passport) and LPR need a Visa to enter Mexico?

I might also add that she doesn't have her physical Green Card as it was taken at the Info Pass Appt we had a year ago in which they stamped her passport.

I read somewhere online that any LPR with ANY nationality passport can enter Mexico without a Visa.

Any guidance please?

TY!

Hello,

I filed in December 2017 with the California office and today, I received mail dated August 7 requesting for more evidence. I have until Aug 24th to submit the evidence. Wondering whether people have started receiving movement on their application. They want ALL of this evidence:

  1. Communal Mingling
    1. Lease Agreements or Mortgage in both spouses name
    2. If joint lease or mortgage not possible, letter from landlord
    3. Copies of power, gas, electric, phone, internet and other utilities
    4. Auto registrations showing joint ownership
    5. Letters from friends and family addreesssed o either spouse and mailed to address befor ewe were living together
    6. Letters between couple before marriage including postmarked envelope
  2. Joint Financial Statements
    1. If you have a bank, financial account, provide opening records including application
    2. Evidence that spouse has benefiary on retirement account
    3. Other investment accounts (stocks,
  3. Joint Responsibility for Financial Liability and welfare
    1. Joiny income or tax returns
    2.  Credit card stamenents incluing names of sposes
    3. Loans or credit lines for an automobile or major purchase
    4. Wire transfers, bank or checks
    5. Evidence that the spouse has other has a beneficiary
    6. Other insurance statements for auto, life, home
    7. Letter from employer showing designation of spouse as person to be contacted in event of an accident
    8. Wills, trusts or power of attorney, naming both spouses
  4. Shared Activities and Relationships
    1. Evidence of trips
    2. Evidence of correspondence btn spouses
    3. Receipts from gifts that you bought for one another
    4. Wedding related expenses
    5. Other expenses for wedding such as invitation, weeding sign in book
    6. Birth certificates of children born into relationship or medica records
    7. Photographs from both spouses

I don't have some of the evidence that they are requesting. I can't believe I was given only 2 weeks to put this together. Anyway just to let you know that the standard 30-87 days is not the standard.

Wow congrats.... but what evidence exactly did you submit with your application because the RFE is requesting for the basic evidence . I’m just thinking  out Loud .

@DeeTee, i think @NeedMoreCoffee was just pointing the fact that if USCIS are going through the dec2017 applications now and asking for RFE, assuming they are doing so on a first come first serve basis, then it may mean that our applications have sufficient proof that do not require RFE.

But personally i'm not confident that this is the case. I doubt they are looking into the dec2017 with the same intention. I think they are so caught up that they didn't even check and report if the apps had sufficient proof like they used to within 1 month of receiving the application.

Most ppl got theirs already but it should be coming for you too in the next couple days. Regarding Mexico, does it hurt to just do some reading online? Pretty much anybody can go to Mexico for a 6 months stay. Whether your Afghan or traveling with i-551, you don't need a VISA.
