Second level agent assured me I would be able to walk in to my nearest office and explain the situation and they will take my biometrics.

That's great news!

I just called and after 5 rounds through the entire voice menu, I gave up. I requested an appointment in Jacksonville online (they're only making emergency appointments right now it seems), I hope to hear back from them soon.

I pressed 1 for English, then 2 and 2 and 2 again and it took me to an agent. I explained everything and she transferred my call to the second level agent...

Ah, thank you. That's what I'll do if I have to call again.

Just checked case status and says this: On April 9, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number _____, at your local office.

At least my hubs got his biometrics done back in November, but I guess this is nothing to get excited about?

We filed in Oct. 2017. No biometrics appointment letter was ever received. In February 2018 the case status was updated to 'Case was received at my local office'. Yesterday we received an NOA which said no biometric appointment will be needed, and the biometric fee will not be refunded. No other info as far as the case status but I guess we're happy that we know it was looked at. No change to the case status on the USCIS website

Queso, I just called again and spoke to someone. She told me to go to my local ASC at the scheduled time and they would take care of it. However, Jacksonville doesn't do walk-ins and after what I've read about people being turned away for biometrics there, I won't just drive there and lose an entire day at work. I requested an appointment in Jax, explaining my situation - they won't give me one.

I wrote down the name of the people I spoke to over the phone just in case they want to turn me away I can let them know who told me to come in. I did ask if I would need to schedule an infopass and she said no, just walk in to the local office and they will do it. I’d say bring your letter and everything you need and point to the mistaken zip code in the letter and they should let you walk in because it was their error.

I sent out anothet request for an appointment in Jax. I'm sure they'll say no without an explanation.

I'll end up having to just go there and take a chance.

See you all around March 2019 :dancing:

Yo Peeps, wasn't planning to come back here till March but wanted to let you know that they sent me a letter saying they don't need to do biometrics :D and they won't refund the biometric fees . Will use old records. Good luck!

Seems like a lot of us have got the 'no need for biometrics' letter. Wonder why it's not recorded in the case history? It's the only real piece of news on my case I've had since getting my application acknowledgement back in Oct-17.

Got the biometrics letter for an ASC that was one state over.  I went into a local ASC (Chula Vista) 8 days early and they handled us without question. We were in and out in under an hour.  Your mileage may vary. Best of luck all

I requested another appointment with the correct ASC, got a call from a NY number and was told they would schedule a new appointnent using my correct address. I got an email confirming this, the email doesn't specifically mention the ASC location though. Hoping for a new letter in a week or so.

Oh wow! That's great news. Gives me hope. I'm so pleased for your brother - happy to know CSC cases are moving, even if it's in the minority. Thanks for sharing, am interested in your brother's timescales from now to getting his card. :)
