I got the 'case received' message' too. First date was 26 Feb, which then changed to 5 March. No notice in the mail. Feel like I've done all I can now, really going to try and put my energies into trying to forget about my green card progress (easier said than done :)

I am debating about filing for the N-400 in October. I know the basics but will probably start looking into what's needed around July.

I'm expecting a really long wait for the 10 year green card but things can change. There's always a chance that we could all be clearing this hurdle sooner than we think.

I am just worried about traveling... Also, I tend to travel a lot for longer periods of time. With an interview 'can happen anytime' it is kind of hard to take off for 4-8 weeks :( Staying put is killing me... oh well

@Butterfly83 I hear you! I may have a trip coming up so am thinking of asking my neighbour to open any mail that comes for me from USCIS - I am assuming that Informed Delivery works overseas.

I'm concerned about being out of state for a biometrics (or anything else) appointment but really don't like living life on hold.

Can't believe I didn't look at this yesterday, but I totally forgot that the updated 'processing cases date' also gives corresponding actual worked on date. So CSC were working on 12 October 2016 cases as of 31 January 2018. Does this mean that come 31 March this year they might be working on December 2016 cases?

I can't do the math, and besides, there are too many unknown variables for me to get my poor coffee-deprived brain around. Like, how many cases do they approve each month?

You can sign up for Informed Delivery emails; the email usually arrives between 6-9am if you have mail that day. Alternatively, you can log in on the USPS website and see pictures of the mail scheduled for delivery that day. So as long as you have internet connection, ID (informed delivery) should work anywhere.

What are we looking at in this screenshot?  I'm a bit confused as to what I-765 EAD (work permit) has to do with I-751 ROC?

Not much. :) I think that's just a current message on the processing times page:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

But look  below it at this line:

Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: January 31, 2018

I'm wondering what case dates are actually being worked on now if yesterday's update was progress as of 31 Jan.

Hope that makes more sense.

Hi all. I follow the February 2017 thread and someone shared this from another forum. I figured I would share it with us October filers. It gives some explanation on the transfer to local office messages:

They just started working on October 2016 within the last 1-2 weeks or so according to people in that thread. So I think you can ignore the "as of" date, it's not accurate. In January they were working on August 2016.

@Butterfly83 is wanting everyone to look the message at the very bottom of the screen shot.

"Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: January 31, 2018"

I was confused at first too.

Hello,

I just joined visa journey.

Visited infopass today. So just sharing my experience, May be it helps someone.

I filed my I-751 in October

Receipt Date is October 5th 2017.

current status: 26th February 2018 at local office.

Didn’t received any biometrics till infopass appointment. And that two receipts confusion.

so Today I had an appointment at 6:30 AM ,The experience was really nice. The officer made an appointment of 11:00AM for my biometrics. Also told me that because of the workload this all transfer is happening and your file is ready to get transfer but not yet transfer.God willing will be transferring soon.

As well as he told m to go with the receipt number of Extension letter.

the Other one is for our internal system

Also asked me if wanted to get the stamp on my passport if I am traveling international.

Booked my appointment for a Monday as I can’t get that stamp before my Biometrics and it takes 48 hours to get updated in their system.

I got my biometrics done today itself.

The Officer was really nice and helpful..gave us suggestions to pick our time for the appointment as well as made us understand our doubts.

Interesting & is contradictory to what GoodByeGirl was told. I can't even think about this anymore...

Welcome to the October-17 filers club @GazalaJuned. Thanks for taking the time to share your update, really interesting. Your experience is at odds with my infopass attempt to get biometrics done (also this week). I'm wondering if this is an indication of the uncoordinated progress many are experiencing. But good for you!
