My husband and I had to travel out of the country last week and just came back today. We did immigration at Miami International Airport. Just an FYI.

 

Since his GC has already expired, we traveled with the NOA. Apparently, the format has changed and it took longer than usual for them to verify it was a legitimate letter. We were sent to a separate office. I accompanied him because I obviously did not want to leave him alone.

 

It may not happen to anyone else, but just take the necessary precautions and leave yourselves plenty of time to catch any connecting flights that you may have. Also, always travel with your original NOA.

Hi everyone, i called the USCIS yesterday to check about my biometrics . It is already 32 days from receiving NOA . When i called and put my Number it said that there is no case on their file with this number 😯 . Also i was trying to talk to an agent there’s no option. Is this normal

Hi,

 

Yes, when you enter your receipt number it will tell you that is not valid. You need to ask the agent to be transferred to tier 2 immigration officer. I normally say that I got disconnected with the immigration officer and if I could be transferred back. I called them Friday and was able to obtain the ''case number'' and also I asked about the biometrics letter. She told me that there is no appointments available and give them to call  in 90 days. I am not sure if the call helped but I received my biometrics letter and I am scheduled on Monday.

Since his GC has already expired, we traveled with the NOA. Apparently, the format has changed and it took longer than usual for them to verify it was a legitimate letter. We were sent to a separate office. I accompanied him because I obviously did not want to leave him alone.

 

It may not happen to anyone else, but just take the necessary precautions and leave yourselves plenty of time to catch any connecting flights that you may have. Also, always travel with your original NOA.

Did u carry your expired GC while traveling? or travelled just with the passport and NOA ? I lost my GC and apply for the replacement, I want to travel with my foreign passport and NOA, not sure if i can do that.

Yes you need to have your expired gc along with the NOA while traveling abroad.

i just want my bio metrics appointment letter i have to move soon so im gonna have to change address what if something goes wrong on the 24th it would have been a month after receiving my NAO how long does everyone usually wait after their NAO to get their bio metrics ?
