I had my official 12 month extension. Guy at the emirates counter was young and very courteous. He told me that they are fined for boarding a person who does not have valid visa to USA on a flight US bound.

Transit visa requirements are different while travelling on Indian Passport. Europe does not provide a long term visa for visitors either. Painful to transit or travel thru EU for me.

So leaving the letters on the side ... do you suggest me getting the stamp ? Because my route is also from Delhi to dc via Dubai

Your choice. Boils down to an airline check-in agent or an exit immigration officer's familiarity with the docs. Unless you already purchased the ticket, one option to avoid the transit hassle is by choosing Air India that flies direct between IAD and DEL.

Not everyone gets issued the i551 stamp; no guarantees USCIS would issue one if in possession of a expired gc + valid extn letter combo.

If your extension expire within 30 days , you will get I-551 stamp.  Not sure, if you take an Inforpass and ask IO that I would like to surrender my expire green card for I-551 stamp, not sure whether you will get I-551 stamp.  The big issue is to get an infopass.

While doing a search for a range of cases around EAC18026***** on the Case Tracker app, the search results return Offline for all cases.

Is it just me, or is something amiss?
