I-751 October 2017 filers

Today is the first day we can file the I-751 so currently putting together our package.  We seem to have everything in order in terms of evidence, a lot of strong initial evidence with joint leases, joint bank statements, joint utilities, joint insurance, power of attorney etc.  

 

The only thing we are stumped on is affidavits from people who have known both of us since my conditional residence.  Is this an essential item?  We're not particularly social people due to husband being a disabled veteran and he is no contact with his family.  

 

Also, I know the form says to submit everything since marriage but everything we had since marriage was submitted as part of an RFE we received at interview, so would we need to submit those items again?  I'm presuming yes because things get lost or missed.

I would not sweat it. My research suggested the affidavits are a nice to have but not required. Evidence such as joint utilities, loan agreements, joint accounts and tax returns carry more weight. It seems you have more than enough without having to resort to affidavits. I did not submit any affidavits and received my first NOA a couple of days back. If at a later date they need more then i will quite happily provide. As far as duplicating evidence is concerned, if the evidence is relevant then send it again. My focus was on getting the extension, which i received, if they want more proof then i will bore them senseless with further evidence. Don't let the affidavit issue delay your application.

Affidavits are usually submitted when you pretty much have nothing to show.  Prepare as much as you can now (all those joint accounts, medical insurance if you have, taxes etc.).

 

Whatever you submitted at the interview/with RFE doesn't need to be submitted again. Everything from the time you received your conditional green card should be enough -- that is about 2 years worth of stuff.

Hi guys,

We sent out ROC package on 10/05 and it was received 10/07.
The check was cashed 10/12 and we still have not received the NOA that follows which extends the green card/has the case number on it, etc.

Is this typical? Should we wait longer or contact USCIS?

 

And we also haven't received a biometrics appointment notice either

 

I've called and am waiting on a call back from Tier II

Received our NOA today, dated October 19. Check cashed today also. 

 

**Unsure where things stand with the List updates, so holding off on updating the list.

Did anyone else mail in a money order with their package? I have no patience and worried that I can't see when they will cash the money order. For the VT Service Center are most of you getting your NOAs within a week or is it taking longer?

What kind of money order? Is it Western Union? Do you have copy of your money order? If yes, you can call the number at the back of the money order to check if the money order was cashed out. During my AOS, we used Wester Union money order and we were able to track if USCIS already cashed out the money.

it's a USPS Money order... I have a copy and the top portion which is the receipt, there is no number on the back to call

Thank you! It says no info available, I think that means they havent cashed it yet. I will try again by the end of the week.
