He was throwing paper towels at people who likely had no drinkable water, power and limited food.

He also had the audacity to say that he hopes they had a "good time" as if it was some sort of party.

I really am not sure that is a compliment. He clearly sees Puerto Rico as second class. He compares them to a "real disaster", implying their problems aren't real. He "jokingly" mentions their negative impact in the budget.

He literally did everything a President isn't supposed to do when visiting victims of a natural disaster. It's like he read a rule book and said "naw man imma do the opposite".

Honestlyit doesn't even need a rule back. It's all common sense stuff. You don't even need to be truly sincere. He could have just gone there, smiled, said some meaningless (but not offensive) words, handed out supplies like a NORMAL HUMAN (instead of treating it like some talk show reward session) and then left.

He doesn't get "brownie points" or a "participation trophie" for just showing up but acting like an idiot.

When the Russian crisis is , but a distant memory and all you got is paper towels

Unfortunately for Trump, and it seems yourself, the "Russian crisis" continues to be an on-going investigation.

Is that a sore point for you? I'm sorry...

Russia aside...

Is it appropriate to treat supplies for families after a natural disaster like mardi gras beads or some sort of party favours thrown into a crowd?

Is it appropriate to tell people to "have a good time" while visiting an area impacted by a natural disaster?

Is it appropriate to compare their natural disaster to a "real one" from the past?

Is it appropriate to joke about how helping families and providing support hurts our national budget?

Is it appropriately to speak flippantly about a region's "death count" and focus on how "good" it is?

The answer is no to all of the above. If you answer yes, then you essentially have the decency, humanity, and sensitivity of our current President (who has very little if you haven't already noticed...)

Those also ignore some of the mistakes he made as well, which in the past would have been enough to call attention to but now gets glossed over because of how big of a backside he is. He pointed to and called out a representative of the Air Force to say words for the Coast Guard, and when the guy replied that he was from the Air Force his response was "Oh I knew that". Oh really? Did you Mr. President?

A great day in Puerto Rico yesterday. While some of the news coverage is Fake, most showed great warmth and friendship.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 4, 2017

Unfortuantely for Trump, no one is faking live recordings of what he says and what he does.

Perhaps later on he will release a video with him dubbing over his own voice where he correctly identifies representatives from the Coast Guard, doesn't compare Puerto Rico to a "real disaster", doesn't mention our budget to people without drinking water or power, or talk about how good the "death count" is. That will be the "truth"!
