Infopass appointments not available -- checked every day for a week now

I live in NYC where I presume Infopass appointments are taken quickly. I've gotten the "Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow." everytime I checked at 12.01am, as some people have suggested. No slots seem to be released.

I've also checked sporadically throughout the day but still don't see an appointment available. When are time slots released? Does anyone have any first-hand experience gotten an Infopass appointment in NYC?

I need to get an I-551 stamp on my passport. :(

Yes - last week. I have done maybe 20 infopass appointments at federal plaza now, as well as loads more all over the US.

Regular appointments usually DO appear every night (except friday and saturday) as they are supposed to - unless the system is borked which happens from time to time.

Start checking from 10pm onwards. I have occasionally seen them appear as early as 9pm, and at random times like midday and 5am. No rhyme nor reason to it, it is what it is.

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

Try to show up at your local USCIS office and ask the receptionist there to see if there is a way to see an agent there that can stamp your passport. I remember mine I just did a walk-in. Explain them the situation.

PS: Bring your expired GC.

Hmm I was chided by an officer when I tried to do a walk-in the last time, at a different office. :/ Worth a shot I guess!

I had to show up twice I think. The first time they asked me to do an infopass but there was nothing available for the next weeks so the next time I went I told them I needed it urgently for a job offer that needed to see that. I guess they saw my desperation. Ones I passed security I approached the reception desk and she understood the situation. Thanks God! Good luck to you!

All depends on the office, but in my experiences at federal plaza I would say don't get your hopes up.

No issues getting into the building and through security, but when you get to the 3rd floor the moron by the door won't let you through to the receptionist without an appointment.

Even if you do manage to get past him (I have a few times by using old appointment letters flashed quickly, and also good old distraction!), you will likely find that the the receptionist dragon won't let you see anyone.

She has a couple of times sent me down to the first floor to ask, who promptly sent me back to the third floor to be rejected yet again.  No amount of politely stressing the urgency to the point of being in tears on several occasions has gained any differing result.

Always the same staff on the third floor, and all totally unhelpfully rude in there in my honest opinion.

There are self service kiosks on the first floor, but they usually only show the same availability - or lack of it- as you get online, so not much use to anyone.

Holtsville on Long Island can be good for walk ins, but possibly the single rudest customer facing person I have ever experienced (anywhere - not just USCIS) mans the infopass desk there...and he was extremely unhelpful as well, so may be a wasted trip to the middle of nowhere.

Persevere online and you should be good.

Thanks for sharing your experience, mindthegap! That's what I feared. I've had an unpleasant experience at the Queens USCIS office. I may end up going to the Holtsville office with an appointment if I still can't get an appointment at Federal Plaza in the next few weeks.

Thanks so much again!

NYC is ridiculous, I needed a infopass for my daughter but nothing was available for weeks.  One day, I checked at like 7am and there were a few slots, but most filled while I was making up my mind.  So if you see a slot, TAKE IT ASAP.  I had to refresh a few times to see what was actually still open, because they were literally being filled as I was looking at them.  I finally took one.

And yes, the people working at the NYC offices are usually pretty nasty.  It's like they are doing you a favor by helping you or answering a question. But that goes to every governmental office pretty much, like DMV, social security, etc.  Being a New Yorker we defend the people and the city blindly, but over the last few years, I have started to realize what a bunch of a-holes a good chunk of the people of this city are.  That is the reason that I'm actively looking to move out of here towards the Midwest.  Everybody is always in a goddamn hurry, cutting you off, pushing their way in and out of the subway/elevator, etc.

Sorry for the rant.

I had my appointment in NYC. Found it randomly during the day and didn't look very many days.

The place was empty. I noticed the people I met in the NYC office were very helpful and kind. They contacted the CSC on my behalf.

It is called either an entitlement mentality or typical government mentality....with the latter, if they are nice or nasty, there is little or no firings...government begats MORE government....there is NO reason for them to change...except people like President Trump who are not career Govt employees...

This thread has a clever idea - trying to capitalize on cancellations - check it out!

I've just moved from a town where the local office was never busy to one where it's completely booked, so I may try this if I need to go back in. Anyway, here's the thread.

The issue Eric is that these people are supported by the population of this city. Why? Many WORK for the big government or unions. So big government begats BIGGER government and no responsiveness to the public,
