Thankyou :( i need to stop looking at the forum i think...

I also just realised, our case number begins with WAC18 (assuming 2018) does everyone else in October have the same?!

No just don't have it set in your mind that what everyone saying is your exact fate. It's good to keep up with what's going on but it can be disheartening. You stay strong hon, we will make it through this!

I'm not sure if that's what it stands for but mine does as well, it's WAC1890020090

I asked about this in the May thread, but WAC18 case numbers are FY2018 which is Fiscal Year 2018 which begins in September of each year for the US government.

Begins in October.

WAC stands for California service center

18 for 2018 fiscal year

90 is fixed and connected to the working days but have no clue how. So everyone will start from WAC1890

Thanks for the clarification Naes!  I thought I saw that some Sept filers had 1890 numbers, but I might be mistaken!

There is because I found some when I was searching for October cases for you guys. It mixes up a lot. And it is not even always chronological so please try not to think about those numbers much at least yet.

there are cases with bigger wac numbers yet earlier received dates.

No nothing but I would take it as good news not bad considering some of May filers were just getting RFE this month...is that on the app or an actual account with USCIS?

Thanks for updating us! :)

That was on the App! It keeps giving notifications of similar cases with status updates! I was just wondering how they get into cases so far ahead and I keep reading some are expedited and I'm wondering how do you get them to expedite...

I don't know how they decide but I know you can apply if it causes financial hardship by your fiance not being here. Just google it, this site isn't the greatest with copying and pasting links.

I was wondering if the fact that you already have a child together would help. We have a daughter together who will be two soon. Who knows...

Expedited cases are mostly (not always) military cases about to get deployed and humanitarian. 😊

Annnd these are the moments I wish my fiancé didn't get out of military before we decided to get married...

It's up you when you wish to let your employer know about your situation. Personally, I will just be providing a 2weeks - month's notice (depending on when I get a flight that won't cost an arm and a leg) that I will be leaving and only a select few will be made aware of why exactly.

I don't have kids but many persons have moved with kids and have used the the K-2 visa for their kids. Is there anything specific you're curious about?

Nothing specific, just asking around 😀

Ahh yes. Just to make it clear and not to raise any alarms, our petitions fall under the 2018 fiscal year therefore our case #s start with WAC18. It has no bearing on the time it will be processed but just what fiscal year's reporting and such our cases will fall under.

https://www.uscis.gov/tools/glossary/fiscal-year

Also for those who might be interested in reporting and statistic there's a dataset webpage with prior fiscal years (quarterly) performance for processing so you can see trends and such but again this year is wonky I just removed those trends from my mind.

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will assign you a case number and send your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiancé(e) lives.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

It will help at the interview. Some interviewers only answer one question because the person looked at them as a family and had already decided yes.

Thanks, I told my fiance I'm not putting all my hope in that but I'm also not going to be a negative nancy about it either. Sometimes this site can be a bit depressing because it's all speculation at this point. You know they've been moving slow this year but for all we know it could pick up quickly after the holidays and we could have our approvals before March. No one really knows only USCIS knows. With that being said at least I know he'll be here for good by my birthday (August).

Good luck to us all.:)

Wow! That's lovely! I hope to be with my Fiancé before July/August. His birthday is July, while mine is August.
