Hello!

Firstly, USCIS is still processing May Filers and by mid-November - early December, they will proceed to June Filers. You will be expecting an update or new status on your case by mid-December - early January. So, your case is still sitting/resting on one of the Adjudicator's desk (no cause for alarm yet). 🙂😀

Secondly, an update you would be getting by the speculated time might be an RFE (Request for Additional Evidence) due to the omission of the USC's Birth Certificate, not NOA2.

Thirdly, you and your Fiancé should endeavour to reply the RFE on time. An RFE takes an addition of 2-6weeks to have an NOA2.

Fourthly, your Fiancé can send a mail to or call USCIS ASAP, for a change of address (it isn't a big issue, as I think it won't affect the NOA2).

Fifthly, Pray and Be Calm.

Goodluck and I wish you, success!👌

Congrats, in advance!🎉🎆🎊🎇

So, I just checked the processing times website.

Unless something went horribly wrong somewhere, they have sped through a LOT of backlog.

Looking at the other dates, I worry that is a mistake.

Yes, I'm very interested to see who starts having their case statuses updated in the coming couple of weeks.

It's really confusing. They are currently working on May Files. Does this give an idea or hope for June-September Filers? Hmmm! We don't know yet. Anyways, let's keep watching. We are October Filers and we bring Luck to the House!

I will continue to hope and pray that the date is correct. HAHA

That would mean they are close to our file then.

I saw this in the May filers' thread and will be checking this again in a few but I don't think it's accurate since May filers are getting approved even up to this morning.

What to do after NOA2:

Spoiler

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will assign you a case number and send your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiancé(e) lives.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

I'm really not sure what's going on but this is the USCIS dedicated page for "Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: September 30, 2017". It was last updated: November 7, 2017. The other dates kinda seem to correspond with the K-1 based on average handle time from prior months but it just doesn't make much sense since May filers are literally JUST getting NOA2 and I have yet to see NOA2 updates for June, July, August filers.

I think it might just be a mistake :( or they might be saying they're doing expedited September cases that were maybe made as high priority.

There's also a third possibility ,and this is purely speculation of course, but what if due to the backlog of K-1 cases they've made adjustments to the process and there are a few more steps added to the process such as having it initially reviewed for RFE(s) and such by like an entry level personnel then it passes there it's sent to an adjudicator. It's a longer process but it would speed things up to have an additional set of eyes to cut the workload.

I will try to dig some more to see what's really going on. This is so frustrating though. I will keep hoping though. I'm hoping really hard right now that there was some miraculous event that made the processing speed up without the sacrifice of tightening approvals.

I was online doing the same. It seems the info for CA is correct - or at least I hope so. Our case will be reviewed there :)
