Hey !

What happens when I get the NOA2 exactly? I get a letter through the post? How long will it take to receive this? And how soon will I be able to book the medical/ interview slots?

thanks :)

Hi Daniel. As I Mentioned to @Naes for the September forum, you can download Log Me In.its a remote application  that let's you control your pc from anywhere. Naes used it to start scans while out of the house and it worked well.

Thank you it's good to know, although I live like 10 minutes away from my job so it's not really necessary :)

I really wish it was like those PCH sweep stake commercials where they surprise you by ringing your door bell and telling you won a gazillion bucks. sadly they just send a lousy letter home.

*** Get Approved!😍

*** You will get the Letter via mail.

*** You can wait for 8-15 days before contacting NVC (some Embassies prefer electronic to physical mail) to check if they have received your case from USCIS. Actually, NVC sends Truck load of cases every 2 weeks.

***When NVC receives your case, it takes 1-7 days for a case number # to be assigned to you. With this #, you're likely ready to rock and roll depending on the Embassy for the visa processing.

---> 3 Stages your Case Status will show on the website;

1) At NVC... The NVC still has it.

2) In Transit... The case is on the way to the Embassy.

3) Ready... The Embassy has it.

*** With the case ( --check if your embassy allows it), you can schedule the Medicals, pay the visa fee ($265) and schedule the Interview. Most Embassies would want one to wait for the Packet 3 & 4 before any further activity.

My Embassy has a Preparatory Packet 3 on the website. So, I can download it, prepare the documents without waiting for them to send it.

*** It takes 1-7 days for NVC to send the case to the specific Embassy.

*** The Embassy contacts the Beneficiary and sometimes, the Petitioner to confirm that the Embassy has the case.

---> Some Embassies send the Packet 3 via email or by mail. My Embassy prefers email.

---> You can try to fill the online  DS-160 immediately you get your NOA2 and save it. When you get your case number, you finish it up, sign it and print out the confirmation bar code for the Interview.

Hi ChuAni,

My Beneficiary is in Nigeria as well. After NOA2, how long do you think it will take for the case to reach the Lagos Embassy, i ask because you know Nigeria is Special. Hahaha.

Also what is the website where you can download the packet 3 ahead of time instead of waiting for it to be mailed. And can one pay the medical fee and DS-160 in Nigeria or does it have to be in Dollars. i am also wondering if i can pay the medical fee and DS-160 for my fiance or do i have to send her the money to pay it herself.

thanks for all your help. Glad things are speeding up again.
