Hey guys,

Hope we are all having a good start of the week. I have a question regarding beneficiaries being able to work for their current employers while awaiting work authorization?
My fiancé is the beneficiary and he works remotely, he currently gets paid dollars because that’s the currency used in El Salvador. We have both been wondering if there would be a possibility of him being able to keep his job once he moves here to the U.S and continue getting paid in El Salvador? Does anyone know of any similar cases? Any recommendations?

good question dear friend and if only we can get that answer.

the question on my side was what are they really doing for six months and over for some cases

Yeah I would love to know what exactly they do that takes so long as well.  I don't think they understand how much anxiety this wait creates and how hard it is to far away from loved ones...

Yes! If you really stop to think about it, this is nearly a crime on US citizens. Visa's where US citizens and their loved ones are involved should not take this long. This is the richest country in the world and we are not getting a good benefit in this regard for being citizens. Sure the government should run some background checks and require some documentation. But good grief, marriage and fiancé visa's should take about 2 months max. Actually marriage visa's should take a matter of weeks! The people are literally married for heavens sake!

You are right... I'd love to see 2 months processing but I guess only the lucky folks currently get to enjoy that (even though they probably had to do expedite requests).

This would literally be dream come true situation. However, it is more likely to be 2 years than 2 months :P I just hope we`re all in the USA till the end of this summer.

See, the fact that they can even expedite cases proves that the process is simple and if they would just equip themselves with the staff and technology everything would go fast. We have by FAR the biggest military budget in the world, what if we tapped into a miniscule percentage of that budget to increase the staff and technology according to demand for K1 visas and serve our citizens properly. Or have a law requiring a two month processing time on the grounds of human rights and then have the department make the necessary internal steps to have that timeline happen (like a well run business actually trying to serve its customer base).

It's especially frustrating that some straight-forward applications take about 15 minutes from picked up until approved. At least that's what this one former employee at the CSC said in an interview from about ten years ago - maybe it's even quicker now.

So in those cases, you're paying $535 for 6 months in a pile + a little bit of admin + 15 minutes of real action :P  The service could improve, surely.

That is very sad, if this was a corporation at least client would have pressured them with amount of complaints or resignations...there is no one that nags them about things and they have no standard timing even to stick to. They are not loosing anything processing it slower and they still made the same and good amount of money for it.

I just wonder how many officers work there, if it`s a big or small team. I know they have lots of different types of applications to work on, but the update on the website that they`re working on September 1st cases as of January 31st is funny...it`s March 20th!! :bonk:Let alone these stuck in July or August.

Exactly! And with technology nowadays a good AI system could just sort everything out within seconds with some people overseeing it! And we could just all apply online with electronic signatures and then verify anything in person at a small local office or FaceTime! This whole process is extremely inefficient and archaic!

It is just not for their benefit in any way to rush for approvals ;/
