Received NOA1 October 2, 2017. First time fiancé visa filer here with a fiancé from Colombia. Anyone else from Colombia?

Also, I'm nearly 90% sure ill get an RFE because I submitted only one picture of us together and a picture of my passport stamps from Colombia (seems like they'll want more). Also only one page of my previous divorce showing the stamp and date from the court (I'm sure now they'll want the whole document :(). Anyway, my biggest worry is my income, which was only about $15,000 last year (student), and is running at about $23-$24K (before taxes) this year with overtime I'm picking up. I also have two kids though I did not have them on my taxes as dependents (so maybe they're not included in the income requirement calculations?). Do you think I should just get a sponsor for the affidavit of support just in case?

My fiancé is from Colombia! We met in Medellin and right now he's back in Bucaramanga... Where is your fiancé from? Who knows about the RFE... its very possible but then again even if you sent everything/alot it is still very possible. As far as the sponsor goes I'm not too sure, I'll let someone else speak on that who can direct you better!

Hola! My fiancé is from Santa Marta. We met online and I visited a couple times last year, going to Tayona National Park and Cartagena for her birthday. She is finishing up her university until May, so that has helped knowing that even if she had the visa in hand she couldn't come to the US until then anyway haha. Hopefully the visa is in hand June (please! lol).

Awesome! Tayrona is beautiful!! Me and my fiancé can't wait to take a trip there together... I went with my girlfriends to Santa Marta and Tayrona and he recently went with his son to Santa Marta but we plan to make it our little honeymoon spot after our "Colombian wedding" He's never been to Tayrona!

POE in June would be wonderful! probably more likely for you.. our rec'd date is Oct 10 so I'm hoping for early July! Fingers crossed for all of us!

So when I did this before I had to fill out i-156, i-156k, and ds-230 (possibly b/c k1 visa is dual intent visa) but now it appears that only ds-160 is needed. Can someone please let me know if this is now the requirement (fill out ds-160 to have interview scheduled after approval)???

Amount of documents we have to prepare is just insane! And you know what, I was just wondering why in the XXI century America the great still wants the paperwork to be sent by mail. It would have been so much faster and easier to do it online.  <_<

But let`s hang in there...few months and we will be done with this part :D...well, hopefully few months!

good question dear friend and if only we can get that answer.

the question on my side was what are they really doing for six months and over for some cases
