Hi @DonAnn, would you mind sharing with us about the reason for this being your second time applying? Were you denied before?

Spoiler

After USCIS approves the petition, it is sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC will assign you a case number and send your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate where your fiancé(e) lives.

The NVC will mail/email you a letter when it sends your fiancé(e) case to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Once you receive this letter, inform your fiancé(e) to take the below-listed actions to apply for a K-1 visa and prepare for the interview.

Hello, I was approved the first time but took 9 months... visa was denied at the embassy and that fiance was told he needed a hardship waiver (I-601)... I did the waiver, he got approved, we got married before 90 days but I divorced him...

Feeling anxious lately... I just have this fear of being left behind. I scroll through June and July and see people there still waiting and it genuinely freaks me out.. My case is not straight forward to boot. I have an arrest record and my fiancé was recently divorced. I am so scared of waiting months after our expected timeline for adjudication. Not much to do but sit and wait but I guess I just felt like sharing here since some might relate.... I can't wait for March to be over

I wish you all the best. Unless you have a felony I wouldn't worry too much... My ex-husband had previously been in the US and was removed (deported). He was also arrested in a different state but charges were dropped. I didn't know the details of his removal before filing for fiancé visa but at the end of the day instead of getting a denial the case was approved. After waiting longer than 6 months I did contact my local congressman but I'm not sure if that's what did the trip... If you can't shake your anxiety regarding arrest and divorce issues I think you should plan ahead for possibly getting a lawyer (if denial occurs at the interview in your fiancé's country)...

I can relate.  I have two petty theft misdemeanors from over 5 years ago during some times of my life.

Thank you for your support.. we do have a lawyer because I am just so serious about being with my fiancé and I knew we didn’t have a straight forward case.. my arrests aren’t felony and my lawyer said it won’t cause me to be denied but I just don’t want to be waiting until September to hear something.. that is my fear. I’ve just had enough of this. Thank you again for your kind and supportive words <3

You're welcome. I think having a lawyer already will help you and possibly reduce your wait time... (can't believe I'm doing this again but no regrets... all I can say to everyone is don't ignore any issues you currently have with your finane thinking that things will change once you live together)...
