Congrats by the way. I mean it will most likely come up but I don't think it is something that will need a proof or have an enormous effect on the interview.

are you worried about the interview for some reason? (Sorry can't see the country on my phone)

Thank you, and no not worried really. Was just wondering how it will affect things.

Yes there are lots of Philippines, but reading a bit will find you lots of answers too.

So for phillipines there's cfo seminars. And yes fiancée can do it before the visa interview however after getting the visa she needs to go back for the stamp.

for what's needed after noa2:

cenomar

nbi clearence

police clearance if there's any other country she's been longer than 6 months

birth certificate

i-134 affidavit of support and its evidences such as tax returns etc.

updated letter of intent to marry from the petitioner written to the embassy

proof of ongoing relationship after noa1 to recent times

photograps

passport

and petitioners passport photocopies

medical exam results.

...

you need to read around.

@John & Rose

Hi @Naes, I haven't seen you mention any major approvals past August 15th.... What are your thoughts? I remember seeing August approvals around 2 weeks ago and things just got very quite ever since....

They got to August 22 on approval.

and apart from that we saw 1 August 31 rfe.

but there's nothing in between so I'm counting August 22 as the latest date so far.

there are lots of approvals though from both last Friday and today and we still have silent noa2s without updates also :)

things are going slowly but strong..

Approval dates I can't guess cause it depends on the case.

to start; for the time being in expecting September to start late next week. So maybe around 185 days of first case of October. (If they keep the pace)

however September has a similarly less amount of cases as july, so if they the same way it can be a bit faster. So late March would be the positive guesstimate..

disclaimer: personal guesses.

Thoughts as we sit here and wait... Once fiance arrives here, after we get married, he will not automatically receive his green card but we can apply for travel and work documents? So I guess my questions are:

1. When can he travel out of the US after POE? is it when he gets his green card or when he gets his temporary travel papers? Can he travel within the US on his visa before we get married?

2. Once we are married, can I put him on my health insurance? Or do we have to wait for next steps/more paperwork?

1) You apply to AOS (adjustment of status) first and together (at the same time) you can apply for ead (employment authorization) and AP (advance parole - this lets your fiancé travel). When you file these last two with AOS it won't cost you any extra money.

usually ead and AP is on average of 3-4 months. But may depend on the how busy is your field office. (You can check your field office on uscis website and then check the average times in here on visajourney)

travel within us is ok, but always carry the papers with him!

2) yes you can.

however some insurances asks for SSN (normally shouldn't but well some do) so don't forget to apply for SSN once I-94 can be confirmed online (usually 2 days to 2 weeks) and before the marriage and applying to AOS (status change may cause you not being able to get it and they won't give it when there's less than 14 days left on the i-94)

@Naes thank you so much! I'm guessing there are guides for AOS and EAD and AP and everything that comes after... I'm thinking of doing all that myself instead of paying for a lawyer for that part.. I feel a little more confident now and I have VJ so that makes a huge difference... I'm thinking I should start doing my research now while I have all this time before my fiance gets here. Is there a good check list or resource you can recommend for the process after POE? EAD, AP, AOS etc?

Try googling "AOS step by step k1 visa journey" first and go through it. After that ask me in detail. I'm certain unless there is a problem with your case, these can be done without a lawyer.

Most simply the steps after k1

1) enter US

2) get SSN

3) get married and obtain certificate

4) apply for AOS and ead/AP

Ok I have a few questions but heres a big one that is stressing me out a bit.. under AOS form I-485 in section 8 General Eligibility and inadmissibility... Is he ineligible if he was in the military in his home country? I'm sure I'm reading this wrong....
